Great numbers, wonder how many was actually sold to consumers tho. It is no game i will enjoy or buy myself.

@flyincloud1116:
Dude, there's only about maybe 15 million X1's out there ATM, C'mon man, no reason to but Halo 5 in this comparison, CoD is fine tho.
Halo always sold badly on PC. It doesn't matter if it was multiplat or not, it would see negligible increase. But that way they don't move consoles, and they would have to actually give how many copies they sold instead of how many the combined profit of how many consoles it sold, copies, and microtransactions.
That first Halo sold pretty well on the PC, and that was in spite of the fact that it was poorly optimized. The 2nd halo tanked, because it was a vista exclusive and you needed games for windows live just to play it, which absolutely hurt its cause. Otherwise Halo like anything else would benefit greatly from multiple skus. It would still be behind CoD/Fallout these days if these numbers are to be believed, but given how the franchise has drawn on one console with limited fanbases, it would be foolish to assume it wouldn't sell buckets on a PS4 or a PC with larger install bases.
Definitely behind Fallout, Halo simply can't compete with Fallout. It made 700+ millions in a single day.

Not this generation at least.
It's absolutely disgusting how a series as flawed as this can get away with these kinds of numbers.
Gotta love idiot consumers.
And I'm willing to bet that the next Bethesda game will use the same graphics engine.
Even COD has a new engine but that's a discussion for another day. Right now congrats to them on the huge success which I hope is not repeated with the next Fallout.
Halo did it on one platform which is impressive. Fallout is on 3, If halo was on PC, PS4, and XB1 it would be save to say the numbers they sold would be doubled maybe even tripled. 400 million to an audience of 15 million , compared to X1 (15 million) PS4 (30 million), and PC (hard to judge audience but some big games like GTA, and FO4 now have sold a couple million on PC which equates to a minimum 120 million in revenue) Halo could have topped a billion if it was multi platform. COD did 550 million to an audience more then triple the size of halo which had 400 million
@ReadingRainbow4: to them we are the idiots. I've seen reasonable posters on this very forum ignore the issues and just say it's fun. Bethesda will never learn because of these people.
You can bet that the next Elder Scrolls game which is said to be in early development at the moment according to Todd Howard ( the man behind the fallout and elder scrolls series since forever) who still insists on using the same engine.
I couldn't believe what I heard the other day when someone told me how impressed they were when they saw how the pip boy in the game has animations now when FO3 and new Vegas didn't. I'm like, Son are you serious? Bethesda is like a dinosaur.

Bethesda will milk the antiquated bullshit for as long as they can get away with it. Gamebryo is the new Quake 3 engine.
They also won't change up the writers, coders or any of the other mountains of literal shit thanks to reviewers like Peter Brown basically telling them, It's ok to have bugs, I love the terrible animations as well as all this comes together to give me a feeling of nostalgia for your other terrible games that are also severely flawed.
It's absolutely disgusting, I really wish some would call these faux game journalists out on their shit. That their job is not in fact to review games through a critical eye, but to simply offer fellatio to the flavor of the month developer with a big enough bank account to pay for coverage and positive reviews.

Excactly, because of the praise legitimate complaints go unanswered which is just ridiculous.

Is the game bad? What is wrong with it?

They've just done very little to improve and in many ways taken massive steps back. For example the dialogue is atrocious as well as the actual options they give you. I'm sorry a short 4 word sentence is not enough to gauge what direction the conversation will take if I pick this option, especially when all the options are so samey in the first place.
The combat and crafting are a step forward but at the same time I can't give them too much credit, these are things that have been available through the mod community in the past. There's a new vegas mod that actually handled shooting better, if you want accuracy and to save ammo Vats is still your best bet.

Nah, he's right. If this were any other developer, they'd be crucified for releasing a game this buggy and janky.

This is ballroom we're talking about, second only in terrible taste to mems.
It's gamers like this we need to remain ever vigilant of, for they are the disease that permits Bethesda the freedom to keep releasing trash.
It's really terrible.

I know who he is.
I just think it's sad that people will go out of their way to apologize for Bethesda's crushing inability to release a finished product that actually works properly. People lose their minds when other studios do this.
Assassin's Creed Unity? Ubisoft was TORN APART.
Fallout New Vegas? Obsidian was crucified.
Any other studio would be put on blast. But people will line up to apologize for Bethesda charging them full price to beta test their games. It's pathetic.

You do realize those games that are buggy as well just might you know SUCK!!. A prime example is lets look at 2 other buggy games Arkham Knight and Watch Dogs, even w/o bugs those games would probably be meh, people gave those two games shit not just cause of bugs but they were overall meh at most.
Bethesda aren't the only devs to release buggy games, you really wanna go down the list?
and those are just the ones I know on top of my head
I've encountered 0 game breaking bugs in Fallout 4 and so far optimization has been a lot better than Skyrim when it was released. If a games entertainment value succeeds the bugs and glitches then of course people are gonna enjoy the game, if a game is half assed and has bugs of course people are gonna give it shit. There's a reason why people love Bethesda games cause people are still playing/modding Skyrim to this DAY!!!!, even Obsidian has the same issues Bethesda has.
@ReadingRainbow4: Ironically coming from you, if there's anything positive being said about Bethesda you're always there to bitch and whine how crappy they are, which honestly is not only sad but pathetic cause I've never seen anyone show their distaste for a company more than you. The sad thing is even if Fallout 4 had literally 0 bugs, you'd still be there bitching and whining about something.
Awesome, and it is an amazing game, totally deserving of every success it has coming its way.
Haven't been this engrossed in a game since The Witcher 3.
Nice to see some games still deserve the hype surrounding them; Fallout, as a franchise, has released consistently good games throughout the years.
Just a minor note, however: Halo 5 is an Xbox exclusive, not really fair to slam it for not selling as much as multiplatform titles. But CoD can suck it.
Jesus,
Good job, Bethesda, I'm happy for you, Fallout 4 is fun. Now hire better writers for your next game pls
Bethesda. Bethesda's shitty writing never changes.
to be fair, however, the voice acting is a huge improvement over their usual releases, consisting of the same five voice actors lol.
Don't really care about the writing, to be honest.
