Fallout 4 Announcement Coming This E3

Bethesda Game Studios will reveal Fallout 4 at E3 2015, according to a source close to the company in a mysterious email.

Multiple insiders have indicated that an announcement would be made, but this source sounded definitive about the announcement happening at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

“It will happen,” they replied when we asked for some kind of confirmation.

Bethesda have discussed a post apocalyptic New York City and Chicago as being two of locations they wanted to explore, according to the inside source.

They couldn’t reveal the exact location of the next installment. However, they did reveal that it’s not going to be a crossgen title. “Bethesda is aiming for an impressive scale and atmosphere with Fallout 4,” they said. “They’re only developing it on current gen and PC.”

Sadly, our source doesn’t expect Fallout 4 to release in 2015, calling Holiday 2015 “crowded.”

“To quote Phil Spencer; 2015 will be a great year for gamers,” they said. “With all the exclusives and third party games releasing this year, it’s going to be crowded with great titles.” When asked about a release timeframe, our source said “Spring 2016 at the least.”

Then, we asked why reveal this news to us, they replied “someone has too.”

"Next-gen" consoles, by default, means PS4+XB1+WiiU (though it usually gets zero multiplats). Which is why the title makes no sense. There would be no need for an undefined plural of the article was confirming or hinting at a XB1/PC exclusive.

This is Phill Spencer in the quotes, so this IS about xbox one finally getting it's first major title announcement, TC never said anything about it being exclusive, it's just that MS is once again talking as if a 3rd party game releasing on their system (ala COD) means some thing special.

Maybe its that MS gets to use E3 to reveal another 3rd party game the same way they did with the last (3rd party) COD?

My mistake, the article used current gen. Regardless the way it's used means all 3 current gen consoles (though as usual Wii U gets the shaft in multiplats). Otherwise it would have singled out the one in particular (like Rise of the Tomb Raider for example). It's no different than say, Ubisoft announcing the next AC for current gen + PC.

Also, just like you said, without proof of anything it's disingenuous to assume there will be meltdowns.

That I can totally see happening. I would be pretty surprised to see this (the full game) become an exclusive/temporary exclusive for any platform.

Absolutely no way way will that happen. Was a little different last gen when architecture made porting a pain, but this gen they are much closer and the amount of revenue lost, never mind the animosity created, simply wouldn't be worth it for a publisher like Bethesda.

the keyword being emphasized here is "crowded". if Phil Spencer is indeed his source then the wording is very telling. he has described Xbox's 2015 being crowded with games before while talking solely about its EXCLUSIVES. not just games in general.

A lot of bullshit has been rumour since 2013. Remember Resident Evil 7 Xbone exclusive last E3? Remember backwards compatibility announcement at Gamescom?

With such a huge portion of Bethesda's fanbase being on PC, creating F4 exclusively for the Xbone would be shooting themselves in the foot. I just can't see it happening ever.
