Fallout x100000

New Vegas isn't a Bethesda game, you can tell by the fact that it is very well written and Bethesda can't pull off anything better than mediocre writing. Skyrim is the best Bethesda game of the generation, so I'd vote for The Elder Scrolls once you correct for that fact. However, if you don't correct for that, I will vote Fallout because New Vegas is better than Oblivion, Skyrim and Fallout 3 combined.
I'm playing Obliv right now.
To tell the truth Elder Scrolls sucks.
I can understand lots of people are into the sword and sorcery bit.
Personally I like the post-apocalyptic wasteland much much better.
Rocket launchers and super mutants? Hell yeah.
Swords? Meh, don't care too much.
I prefer Fallout, but I've loved the series since #1, so I'm biased
They're both great and I hope they keep alternating between them for the forseeable future.
I don't know. The quality of the Elder Scrolls universe feels higher, the world, especially in Skyrim, is painstakingly detailed. However, I found myself incapable of getting bored while playing New Vegas. It's just an amazingly fun game with loads of awesome weapons.
Elder Scrolls, I've been playing it since Morrowind and it has been my favoirte game series since. Fallout is good but the environment get's dull to look at after awhile, and I think Elder Scrolls has a better level system. The Fallout one I don't like as much because it's just adding points to your status, where as in Skyrim your more in control of it by using what you want to level up, also the level cap in Fallout sucks.
I hope they make a new Elder Scrolls game soon, but they should keep the Skyrim style gameplay and stuff. I liked it. I hope they do Hammerfell next or Summerset Isle, I think they are the most interesting based of the Lore.
This, although I dont think anyone can make a "true" fallout game now.... Black Isle is dead, interplay is making a fallout MMO I heard, and most founding members of the Fallout franchise are scattered throughout the gaming industry, For example I heard some guys went to blizzard, some went to obsidian, some stated in interplay etcElder Scrolls, the great Fallout games aren´t even made by Bethesda.

Fallout 3 is one of my favorite all time games, but a lot of great Fallout games weren't even made by Bethesda.
But, Fallout.
Elder Scrolls. I loved Oblivion and enjoyed Skyrim.
Fallout 3 guns just felt a bit crap. New Vegas made that a bit better but not amazing.
Elder Scrolls is one of my favorite all time franchises. I cannot stand Fallout.
Therefore, Elder Scrolls. Also, I adore Skyrim. Come at me, bros. Come. At. Me.
I thought you had good taste in games Chaz

Lol, it's funny how that post from two years ago is just like the new one I posted (when I posted the new one, I did not realize this was a necro and that I had already posted in the thread):

Anyway, my dislike for Fallout stems chiefly from my heavy dislike for its setting. If I do not like the setting, I just can't get into the game. It's the same reason I couldn't get into The Last of Us, even though I know it's an incredible game.
I do love Elder Scrolls. It gives me exactly what I want. It might have a lot of problems, but it's still great at what it does.
I enjoy The Elder Scrolls more than Fallout. I'm not really into Post-Apocalyptic settings. I find them kind of boring.
Oh hai necropost.
As others have said, Fallout isn't really Bethesda's franchise. They've made one game in the series. And it's probably the weakest game in the series apart from the abominable Brotherhood of Steel.
This thread is almost 3 years old, just saying.
2 years and 22 days is not "almost 3 years" :/

At least you're consistent :P
I'm not a huge fan of Fallout either and that's to do with setting too. My favourite setting in games is snowy forests and that should mean I would adore Skyrim too but the game is so fucking shallow. Quests are terrible and almost all of them feel like filler, characters are dull and lifeless, combat is un-involving and clunky, voice work is shit like all TES games.
I have no idea how people praise Skyrim, sure it ahs a lot to do and maybe that has people smitten but its core gameplay is so boring and broken.
I will say Skyrim with some hefty mods can look spectacular though
Lets see they have multiple good TES games and 1 Fallout game that is good, I have to go with TES when it comes to best franchise. Does Fallout even qualify as a Bethesda franchise since they made only one game?
Edit Why did someone post in a two year old thread? I read that someone said Skyrim does not have enough mods, and I was just like WTF
This is really easy for me. Fallout 3 is the finest game the ever came out with. Probably the finest game in history! I love Skyrim and i have sank several dozen hours into Oblivion as well as Morrowind. Yet, they are basically standard sword and sorcery mythology. Fallout is incredibly creative and has a wicked sense of humor. That makes it infinitely superior to TES imho. Furthermore VATS combat is much much more entertaining and deep than combat in TES.
TES, beacuse Fallout isnt their idea
TES was created off their D&D sessions, which is why it's so dammed generic. Ever wonder how places in TES got names like Blacklight (hah!) or Abecean sea (ABC sea)?
