Well, no ****. Japan likes a Monster Hunter game. Sheep: you should know already what to do with this game. But just in case, here's a hint... Don't hype it.Cherokee_Jack
Why? I hyped it and eventually got myself a copy, and while I dont think its AAA material (like all Monster Hunter games arent) I still thinks its a great games, it will almost assuredly get A-AA here.
Has anyone noticed, that all the games Famitsu has given a perfect40/40 to, are from japan?
Have you noticed that they make the best games? Not really. I have a dislike for most Japanese games, atleast that i've played. The MGS series is the only one i really like. The thing with MH is it's love/hate game. Either you rather fast or you get sucked right in.
Now to await some guy telling me how he did neither.

I find it hard to believe you dont like most Japanese games. Its almost impossible
I'm sure you are simply forgetting just how many franchises they have compared to the rest of the world.
[QUOTE="Ontain"][QUOTE="xDimMaK"]I don't trust them.for the type of game that nintendogs was it did it perfectly. i don't think so. I played that game. They could have definitely added more to the part where you take the dog for a walk. Why not have a little town to really explore? To me it's a glaring omission since what they did put in seems lazy there's only so much you're going to fit on a cart. remember that all nintendogs have all dogs unlockable.GunSmith1_basic
also the game is about the dog. not exploring a town.
Either games are really uping in quality or Famitsu is becoming a lot easier when it comes to judging. Not to bash, but I do believe they've given out more perfect scores this gen then they ever did before:
I don't trust them. You do know Nintendogs is a 9.1 on here. It's a very high rated games on all sites. To see them give it a perfect score is understandable when it targeted Japan more than the US. To many people are blind to games they don't like. On a game standpoint for what it is Nintendogs is almost a perfect game.[QUOTE="ASK_Story"]

have you actually played the game? I seriously doubt they couldn't have done more. There aren't that many dogs on a cartridge. You might have a point about the game not being a town, but I think it could definitely have done a lot more than a glorified cutscene for that part. Why not show the dog having a good time at least? What you talking about all the monster hunter games expect 3 have been released here, they just are not popular here.Famitsu Monster Hunter Tri score: 40/40
http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/08/05/4040-rating-capcoms-monster-hunter-3-gets-perfect-score-from-famitsu/
Japan's biggest gaming publication, the Famitsu, has rewarded another RPG for a Nintendo system with a perfect rating today. After giving Dragon Quest IX 40 out of 40 possible points, all four Famitsu editors testing Monster Hunter 3 (aka Monster Hunter Tri) think it's worth receiving 10s from each reviewer, too.
It's not really surprising. The Monster Hunter brand is huge in Japan. But no game of the series has ever made its way to America or Europe. Capcom will release Tri in these territories, however (in "early 2010″).
Hope it becomes big here as it is in Japan!

the wii has 2 perfect score games on famitsu this gen! (or 3?)GiancarThe other perfect I recall is Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Nintendogs really?
It received AAA here... Even professional reviews are subjective, we all know that. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite got a 6 here on GS but it got high scores on Famitsu, 1up, and IGN. So does that mean just because GS gave MHFU a 6 is a bad game? no. It just means that gamespot has a vendetta against the MH franchise. The games that Famitsu gave a perfect 40/40 that were reviewed by GameSpot:

Nintendogs is a game, people who play it are therefore gamers. You need to come out of your little elite nerd world.[QUOTE="Stats_"][QUOTE="CHRION987"]
right, but gamers think its lame, my little sisters opinion on the quality of video games is worth little to nothing
CreepyBacon
But it is not a game deserving of a 10. Theres *plenty* of casual games out there that are better and didn't get that score. You need to get off your high horse before telling others to come out of there own little world.
Guess what. Nintendogs came out well before 90% of your so called "better casual games" It pushed the DS in ways most CORE games hadn't yet(great visuals, dozens of extras, strong replayability, fantastic controls and use of DS only feataures like the Microphone and touch screen) Nintendogs was easily the best possible virtual pet experience, not just for the DS, but for any system. The simple fact that it accomplished what it did on the DS makes it deserving of high praise in my opinion. it was as close to perfect as a Virtual pet can be.Famitsu game Lair the exact same score as the orange box. nuff said. Famitsu game Lair the exact same score as the orange box. nuff said. BoloTheGreatSo you find review you dislike and that must mean all their reviews are bad. You do understand that same logic game be used for any site right? Well their opinion is more educated than ours it is still an opinion based on who they are. Shooters never really score well in Japan mainly due to the fact guns have been illegal for a long time. So the whole idea of them does not capture the Japaneses has it does us. Well the use of Dragons is folklore for many Japaneses, so again it is understandable even if the game was hard to play why it would score better there then here.

They also game Mas Effect 14/40 with some weird complaints like "Trouble finding real ending"
The game looks great, i'm dont know a lot about this games, but for the trailers it looks truly Epic, still i'm gonna wait for more reviews to judge it better, but now, this seems like a very good option for early 2010.
ive got some serious Wii envy over this game. i think its by far the best looking Wii game ive seen. i hope it does good(which i guess it already has) so they can make a 360 MH one day. Id like to see what they could do with the new M2 engine. the monsters in Lost Planet 2 are huge, plus the onlne portion would be perfect for PSN and XBL

Doesn't Famitsu give scores based off of what they feel the company deserves rather than the actual game?

I don't participate in these hype games but isn't hype decided by the fans or fanboys? I am pretty sure that that is how it works.

Just trying to stir the pot.
I can actually see how nintendogs would get 10/10 because back when it was made it was very popular and it was like innovative.
FF12 on the other hand, It was alright but I think that FF10 was a lot better. Everything else though I agree with that I've heard of.
DQ9 looks so freaking good, and MH3 looks pretty good also. I can't wait for those 2 games.
