Famitsu gave Crackdown a 34 out of 40. Discuss. :D
EDIT: I'm not defending Crackdown, like some of you seem to think. I'm just posting this to get your thoughts on the Japanese actually liking a game that doesn't star anime people.

The funny thing is, if you took the cows that are about to post in here "GS scores are what matter" (though they'd be right), and looked in their post history, you could probably find them citing Famitsu or some other Japanese rag.jvonrader
Well, I'm not using Famitsu to say Crackdown is good or anything. I haven't played it, so I wouldn't know.
I'm just posting this because I didn't think the Japanese were capable of liking games that weren't games with strange anime people or perverted games like DOAX2. They actually enjoyed an American, open-world action game.

Who says I'm defending Crackdown?
Am I the only one who doesn't know what Famitsu is?Private_Vegas
It's a Japanese game magazine. Probably the most respected in the country.

This has nothing to do with you. It has to do with Cows in the future trying to call GS bias.[QUOTE="deangallop"][QUOTE="FABurch"]Great for it. I wonder how much money Microsoft threw at them :)FABurchI don't know.... How much would it take for you to never post at gamespot ever again??? $599
Guess I'm going to have to put up with the conspiracy theory's made by a total noob then.

[QUOTE="Ptolemaueus"][QUOTE="donut349"]I didn't know Metal Gear had Anime people in it...donut349
You know what I mean.
The Japanese seem to really like any game that has anime weirdos in it.
Well, lets do somt math.. (i dont know the awnser.. i'm using this to write it down)it would of been really easier if you just did 34 divided by 40... same answer
40-34 =6
6 x 2.5 =15
100-15 = 85
85 = 8.5 ... and people say famitsu is brutal with it's scoring...
I say gamespot should be japans standard on american games before they come out there.. like we use famitsu.. GS is brutal.... BRUTAL.

Yeah, I guess they'll surprise you sometimes. Remember that week where Gears ranked #7 in sales? Where the hell did that come from, I thought they hated games like that?7.8 was ultra harsh for Crackdown...I know its not a great game but common...I atleast expected it to hit an 8...I was shocked more so than the Zelda incident.... :?ViviathYeah, the game's better than 7.8. The Famitsu score is actually just right - 8.5. It's not quite AAA, but it's a real time-eater. Addictive as all hell.
Oh, in case anyone cares it also shows to other scores of some importance.
Virtua Fighter 5: 34/40
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: 38/40
