Far Cry 2 - True graphics king for consoles. Pictures inside (no 56k)

Yes, Uncharted 2 is pretty, but it is very linear. Play Far Cry 2 and you will realise that the Duna (spelling?) engine is one of the greatest engines this gen. Taken from my PS3 version, which runs at a respectable 30fps pretty much constantly. Renders at 720 natively (shame on you Halo 3 and MW2).

Remember, this game is also totally open world!!!

Yeah it's a great looking game, I have the 360 version. I enjoyed playing it for the first 2 days of having it... then I got to another area and just got bored. I should try and finish it at somepoint.

Yeah it is a great looking game, I just wish they'd remembered to actually make some mission variation. And I don't see why everyone calls it a fake open world, it is an open world, just not a very big one.bobbetybob

I dont care what anyone says, Far Cry 2 is til one of my favorite games ever made. The single most immersive game i have ever experienced. And yes the graphics are freaking incredible.

Yep, Farcry2 is one of the technically most impressive console games this gen. Unfortunatly gameplay wise it sucked :(

It's one of the better looking games this gen. And it is open world.

Also the bloom and motion blur seemd WAY overdone on the 360, I was having an incredible amounts of headaches when playing through it. Gave it a second chance on the PC and then realized how mediocore the game's mechanics were.

I have it and no it doesnt look as good as U2...

That game was so disappointing...I use it more as benchmark test than anything else.

Far Cry 2 is an amazing looking game that people seens to forget during graphics discussions, just because the heavy flawed gameplay and overhallconcept of the game.

The console graphics for Far Cry 2 are merely decent. Even the PC version all maxed out with full AA and whatnot still doesn't look better than Uncharted 2. Everything looks like it's made out of clay, and even in the jungles it has one of the driest color pallets I've ever seen.

no not only is the game terrible its not a graphics king by any means even the pc version maxed dx10 at 1920x1200 with 4xAA doesn't look that good and i cringe when people compare it to crysis. The fact that you use off screen pics only further proves this point.

I wasn't really impressed with the graphics. I actually think the graphics are overrated considering one of these threads pops up about every month.

No.... a multiplat for 360 will never be graphics king. The graphics looked very nice for the time but looking at them now I just can't say the same thing. The gun models are kinda pathetic (with exceptions of course), and the environments all took the easy route by being dusted with cocoa powder to go for a gritty realistic look. It's easy to produce great graphics when 90% of the world is brown and then just a tiny bit is green.... Graphics are much more impressive when they're colorful, brown and grey are such commonly used colors in games today because it's so easy to make graphics look better than it really does.

Then remember it's on the 360. Most people, even 360 fans, would tell you the PS3 is the best console for graphics. The ones who don't would say that the 360 can but hasn't yet. Very few people would actually say a game on the 360 looks as good as Uncharted 2 or Killzone 2. And when they do they say Gears of War 2, which is once again all grey and brown.

Don't waste your time. The whole game is "Go to the other side of the map, fetch this, come back and repeat". The game is so damn repetative, I swear I raided that one Castle five different times for five different missions!

I'm sorry, I can't play this game without getting sick. It's so mind-numbingly repetitive, dull, boring, etc. The graphics were fine and all, but not as great as I expected them to be before its release. Uncharted 2 looks better.

Definitely not one of my favorite games, but I have to admit I think it's one of the best looking (not THE best of course).

bad gameplay, bad AI, bad story, the open world isn't open world, the struggle between the two factions is rediculously unbelievable, good graphics, bad game overall.

It is an impressive engine on the 360 and PS3. I still think Uncharted 2 looks better graphically but behind-the-scenes there is a bit more going on in total with Far Cry 2.

Uncharted 2 has some crazy techincal stuff going on in the background though. The reason it rivals Crysis is both the attention of detail that Naughty Dog took as well as some crazy coded graphics.

The graphics are amazing and very underrated because it's a multiplat. If this game was exclusive to either console, fanboys would never shut up about it.

AMAZING gameplay, DECENT AI, BORING story, the open world is TOP NOTCH, the struggle between the two factions is rediculously unbelievable, INCREDIBLE graphics, VERY GOOD game overall.
