It did look good at the time. Too bad the "gameplay" part of the equation sucked hard...

No it's not and it's a false open world...... the game is also bad. SAGE_OF_FIRETell me about it. Everyone in Africa wants to kill you, the missions are fraking monotonous, , the fire, while cool, gets old real quick, and driving around is a chore. Then comes the laggy and not so fun multiplayer...ugh....im getting a headache just thinking about that game. I can't believe I let a friend of mine borrow Crysis in exchange for letting me borrow FarCry 2 :x

What do most of the yellow lines have in common?
The map was fine. There are mountains in real life. You can't always walk in a straight line from a to b. You can also travel on rivers and you are ignoring the fact that there are lots of mountain paths that are not shown as roads on the map Also, the enemy AI and everything you've done to an area are completely reset once you get more than 40 feet away from a "bubble." What an open world that is... So would you have rather gone back to another area previously visited say a km back and not have ANYTHING to do? People need to realize games are not made to be realistic, they are made to be entertaining. One of the biggest issues in designing a game is how do you make a game fun? How do you keep a player entertained in a realistic style game? Oh lets just remove EVERYTHING FROM THE GAME that makes it fun. Yeah, if I wanted to play that game, I would just go outside and take a walk, but sadly, its too damn cold out right now to play the game of life![QUOTE="carljohnson3456"][QUOTE="navyguy21"] you dont mean that :Pthetruespin...oh but I do!!! :P oh its not that bad. Could have been a lot lot better, but it is okay. No more repetitive than GTA, just had a less interesting story not helped by the fact the guy you play has 0 personality!
GTA wasn't repetative, and even if it was the AI and gun play elevated it above the usual style of sandbox games, where Farcry 2 somehow managed to take a step back... It was like bad first person version of the original Mercenaries.
[QUOTE="Lantern-Cusp"]i could not agree more. i LOVE far cry 2. it was amaing. the only people who didnt like it are those with short attention spans and get bored easilyI dont care what anyone says, Far Cry 2 is til one of my favorite games ever made. The single most immersive game i have ever experienced. And yes the graphics are freaking incredible.

Well that's wrong because I don't have a short attention span, and I didn't like it at all. Too many glitches for me.
