81% in metacritic - could drop below 80%, I am shocked. Why are critics as a whole not praising this game?
got my copy 12hrs ago, been playing it for 8. it still has outpost. hunting is a challenge only and doesn't go towards crafting which i dont like. the enemy AI is fantastic they respond to your actions really well. skill points are earned by challenges so they are easy to get. the story has some really surprising moments. things are unlocked on the mission you choose. ammo goes fast but its a good rate and makes you think about what to do. it does have a just cause feel to it tho. id give it 8.5/10 just cause of the "just cause" feeling and the ruined the hunting for me. its a great game, havnt played online yet tho
Was going to buy the game but now that I know you can play as a female character I'm not going to. Doesn't feel realistic.
Still anticipating this personally. Could be my second ever Far Cry I care to buy (didn't get 3 because it made me uncomfortable and didn't get 4 because an ending makes the entire experience pointless).

try harder
He was joking. No one is that stupid. (Excluding Ghosts4ever. lol)

that is why I said 'try harder'
but yes...there are people who are that stupid.
Haven't been following this game, and I didn't know you could play as a female. My interest has increased.
Looks incredible, I loved FC4 coop and this game seems to be taking it a step further with more detailed environments and lots of cool new vehicles. The presence of pets is also cool and it looks like it is going to be great fun Solo as well, no more towers to climb apparently. Looking forward to playing it later
Isn't this the same game that allows you to pay to skip the game? It sets a horrible precedent if companies make money on such dlc. They'll deliberately make certain game part so unbearable you pay to skip it instead of play.
Only 2 reasons why I'm hype for Far Cry 5 is because I happen to enjoy all the Far Cry games (haven't play Primal) and on the plus side, I do happen to enjoy myself some Religion Zealots which is a nice bonus in Far Cry. Already got it on PC and will play the game tonight at midnight!!!
Have over 100 hours in 3 and 4 each. Love these games and this one looks even better. Day 1 buying for sure.

probably bc it's the same damn shit all over again just in a different setting?
I can't decide whether to get this straight away or not... from what I've seen of it so far, it hasn't really got me that excited. Might wait until it gets cheaper.
Gamespot could give it a 7/10 and say it's just more of the same Far Cry and nothing new and I would still be inclined to play it.

Far Cry, fundamentally, hasn't changed since Far Cry 3. They've just added more "stuff" to do. Granted, I love it, but I can see people who don't love it getting tired of it after a while.

If you really like wolfenstine 2 that much with all the political/cults in it, I don't see why you aren't interested in Far Cry 5? Both are first-person-shooters but Far Cry 5 is an open world shooter game vs liner shooter that is Wolfenstine 2. The only difference is that Far Cry 5 has Religion Zealots vs Nazi stuff. Funny thing is, I wasn't thrill after finishing Wolfenstine 2 but I am hype for this game which is strange.
They need to go back to a sci-fi horror setting like in Far Cry 1. That was the best game in the series.
I pre-ordered and I'll be playing it tomorrow, can't wait. Yes it's more Far Cry, more of the same in a different setting with a different story.
That's why I want it. I bought it because it says Far Cry on the box. Some people will buy it then complain that a Far Cry game is too much like Far Cry because let's face it they're fucking stupid.
Also the DLC looks really interesting (I got the Gold Edition). This is currently the only game I'm really looking forward to, not much else out there for the forseeable future, not for my tastes anyway.
Sounds like Far Cry and Ghost Recon: Wildlands got together and made a game. And that is a good thing imo, provided they don't have the negatives of the two games. Can't wait til 12 AM.
Correction, 9 PM (PST). It's 12AM eastern time. WOOHOO
@davillain-: They are completely different games really... like you said, FC is open world and full of sh*t to do (which tends to get repetitive).
I'll probably end up buying it since I was a fan of the past FC games.

Because they are human beings and every single one has their own preferences? Its why entertainment is subjective to each of us.

I agree with you but people were actually pretty divided on the over the top sci-fi and James Bond type stuff in the original. I've heard a lot of people say they felt FC started off good and got way too out there with the tri-gens and super villain with his volcano base. I liked the weirdness of it. It was The Island of Dr Moreau with guns.
FC also had graphics that were years ahead of their time. It still looks good even today and it came out in early 2004.
Everything I've seen of this game looks good. Probably the first Ubisoft game I've genuinely wanted to play this gen.
@R4gn4r0k: He’s probably having a lay down and a cigarette after playing Metro 2033 for the 43rd time.
Just downloaded the Gold Edition on my X1X, so I get FC3 classic as well whenever it is released.
Fun day ahead ;)
Downloading now on Steam, but now still busy playing Ni No Kuni II and still have 11 days left free trial on Sea of Thieves
