Favorite fighting series?

I was just wondering how popular the different fighting series are on the Gamespot community are.

Crap, I forgot about the Super Smash Brothers series, oh well, that's kinda hard to compare to these other five series anyway due to how radically different it is, even though it's in the same genre as these.

Most crossovers are awesome

Tekken.

Street Fighter for me. There are very few games I've played as much Super Turbo in my life. And thats just one of the many Street Fighter games I've gotten countless hours out of.

I was about to rage at the exclusion of Smash Bros, but then I saw you realized you'd forgotten to include it yourself :P Anyway, that IS my favorite fighting series, so I cast my vote for that!charizard1605

Yeah that was purley on accident, because I love the Super Smash Brothers series, it sucks that Gamespot only lets you choose 5 answers because even if I did remember I would have to omit one of these other series.

street fighter/ marvel vs capcom, tho i think super smash melee was alot better than most fighters this and last gen. Microsoft1234

Those games were so fun when me and my friends got together. We would play for ours.

Guilty Gear and BlazBlue Series.

I'd like to say Blazblue, but I think deep down I love Tekken more.

Soul Calibur I & II were awesome...

III & IV weren't.

KoF, then street fighter, then tekken.

Mortal Kombat, it's not the deepest fighter, nor the most balanced, but I have the most fun with it.

Anyway....since Smash Bros isn't on the list I'll have to go with soul calibur.

I doubt I'll live to see a fighting game that surpasses the greatness of melee.

I like too many fighters to choose. The one im best at is probably 3rd strike so I choose Street Fighter. I want MVC 3 to overtake it but I need to put a couple hundred hours in cuz i get destroyed in MvC 2 multiplayer.

Looking at the responses in this thread, it would seem that SSB might have had a chance of winning. I could never really get into the series for some reason.

But I am wondering where all the "Smash Bros isnt a fighting game!" ppls are at? Thats all I used to see when ssb got brought up in fighting game threads lol.

You just couldn't do the same things through motion controls, it would either be impossible, or you'd have to be inhuman.
