I bet that won't be the case. You really have to wait a year or two before you can declare something like that. Besides those choices are prime example of games that might seem like the best ever to you right now but get quickly overshadowed. First a soccer game? Come on, how many people list sports games in their favorite game of all time? You might think it's great now but PES 08 will probably overshadowed by one of it's successors. As for Call of Duty 4, as great a game as it is, it is just a short wartime shooter, definitely doesn't seem like best game of all time material. Games that came out this year that I think years from now might be on people's list for favorite game are Bioschock and Mario Galaxy. Besides those 2 games there were many other great games but ultimately in the end they'll be forgettable.
Anyways, my favorite games of all time is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. After that title I put Super Mario World, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 1 & 2, Snatcher, and Tomb Raider.

Chrono Trigger, Terranigma, Final Fantasy 6, RE4, Half-Life, F-Zero GX....probably many more that i can't think of right now. There's no way to just pick one game.
Sense I have too many to list I will just state one of them.. One that is under-rated and seldom talked about...
Freespace 2.. One of the best if not the best space sims out there.. That has a community that is still alive and kicking after nearly a decade of its release.

But isn't that half of what makes a game great?
Being little and not having played a million similar RPGs, knowing what to do, all the cliches?
Isn't that what makes some games so great, their effect of those who get it first?
