Favourite "dead" developer?

Topic Title^

For me it's Looking Glass Studios. Their games were not only some of the best for their time but for all time.

Games made by LGS:
-Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss
-Ultima Underworld: Labyrinth of Worlds
-System Shock
-System Shock 2
-Thief: The Dark Protect
-Thief 2: The Metal Age

They've developed a couple more but these games were the ones I played and remember so fondly of. They were innvoative, fun and had an excellent narrative (System Shock). Sadly the company closed in 2000 :(

Alot of the employes have joined other companies and were apart in the development of games like: Deus Ex (influenced by System Shock), Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Half Life-2, the Elder scrolls: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Bioshock and many more.

Does codemasters still make games? I haven't heard of them for a while.

I played to death their LMA Football Manager 2001. Easily over 1000 hours of playtime.

M$ shut down a developer with great potential. I loved Brute Force (go ahead and laugh at me) and I was devastated when I realized there would be no sequel of any kind. M$ doesn't give studios second chances, which is ridiculous. Look at KZ1... that game was terrible but Sony gave GG a second chance and KZ2 was a massive improvement. This is why M$ has no exclusives. They don't view developers as a long-term investment like Sony does.

Psygnosis, they were absorbed into Sony Liverpool but Sony's been cracking the whip on them making lame ass Formula 1 games instead of making additions the many various series they developed on the PS1.lamprey263

Actually the Psygnosisbranding was dropped in favour of SCE Liverpooland basicalyl as it can be seenits still Psygnosisbut not in name no mergers happened withany other SCE studiosBUT Psygnosis camden was inevitably merged with Team Soho to create SCE London.

BTW Wipeout Pure,Fusion,Pulse and HD say hi, Sony hasnt had the F1 branding for nearly 4 years now aswell.Also right now those guys are supposidly working on a full blown retail wipeout for the pS3.
