FFVII remake confimed for the PS3?? News as of TODAY?

based on the frech RPG magasine "Gameplay RPG" that is:

"LE CHOC! A quelques heures du bouclage, voilà que tombe entre mes mains un communiqué officiel de SE indiquant le "remake du tres apprécié FF VII sur Ps3, uniquement". Alors que Sony se faisait du mauvais sang avec toutes ces exclusivités qui lui passent sous le nez, voila qu'une annonce vient flatter son catalogue. SE n'en finit pas de surprendre puisque, rappellons-le, depuis la demo technologique de FF VII pour annopncer l'arrivée de la PS3, rien n'avait filtré. (...) Basically, it says that they were holding the official SE communique stating the announcement of a FFVII's remake for the PS3 exclusively.

yeah but this time around, it's not just some random folk spreading some rumours but an highly respected magazine specialized in RPGs

I'm not entirely sure. The website cites it's source as the gamefaq forums.

I'm not sure if I'd like a remake. I haven't liked the last two Final Fantasy's as much as the FFVI-FFIX, so I'm quite wary that a remake wouldn't be able to recapture the game enough to make me happy, and the last game I'd want to see ruined by an inferior remake is FFVII. That said, I know that I'd probabaly maybe eventually ultimately end up getting a PS3 to play Final Fantasy VII if they remade it.

They should just leave the game alone! It'sone of my favorite games of all time, most certainly top 3. To remake it would be like remaking OOT. It's just not needed. :evil:Miyomatic

Redandblack this is Final Fantasy you don't need freaking physics and if you saw Advanet Childern you know the character defies law of nature and Cloud was basically flying.

When i first heard ages ago about the rumours of FF7 remake i was like "Awsome"! but then i realised how big a job it would be to make it good, plus so many parts just wouldnt work anymore... like when you dress up as a girl.

FFVII is a multiplat game... A superior version was released on PC.

That's exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. Not to mention the fact that we'll be expecting Aeris to die this time around, so the shock of losing a main character is gone. Also I don't see how they would (and they would pretty much have to) remove the turn-based system and replace it with any different kind of gameplay backbone. Maybe use the FFXII system? There's a bazillion pitfalls associated with a FF7 remake.

im pretty sure theyre going to leave it the same, and if they dont it will have the new FFXIII battle system which looks AMAZING

If this is officially announced...wow. Expect a huge ps3 sales spike, like, everywhere.

If they do something with the FFVII universe on the ps3, I'd rather have it be a sequel or some different storyline maybe based on advent children. I wouldn't complain if it were just a next-gen remake of FFVII though, that's for sure lol

I never got to finish the game :( My guys were on too low of levels (i dont train andnever have, i would escape from alot of battles just because i couldnt stand sitting there waiting for the fight to finish) and I was just too lazy to level up.

I don't know what to say ,it is a shock for me and I will accept the game with any changes they do with it even if I prefer FF7 to be the same but with PS3 graphics like the tech demo we all saw, I wanna relive some great moments in FF7.And after they do it, I will demand a FF8 remake :) .
