And they didn't cut that content because of the 360. If they so concerned over the 360 version then it wouldn't have been on multiple discs and they wouldn't have lowered the quality of graphics and fmvs on the 360 version.

For everyone hating on Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2, go somewhere else. This thread was made for people who enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII and to get them excited about the sequel and now its being overrun by people just saying how this is a collosol fail on Squares part and how they are making a sequel to the "worst" Final Fantasy. If you want to hate on the game, make a thread with the title "FFXIII-2 announced...FAIL!!!!!!" or something along those lines, don't come in here and ruin it for the people who actually enjoyed the game.

Also while it clearly says North American release is "Next Winter" I don't agree with joystiq that that indicates winter 2012. If it is, I'm gonna have to import :( which is gonna be crazy expensive due to the fact that it has the words "Final" and "Fantasy" and some Roman Numeral on the box.

This is THE reason I HATE Square. Finish VS. before announcing yet another game for PS3 and 360. I will never buy a game developed by square enix again (published.... that's another story, Deus Ex and the next Batman, I won't miss 'em.)

Well they have plenty of fan feedback from XIII to put to good use for this one. Let's hope they produce a winner...and not another Vanille sized disappointment

Go to hell SE, go to hell and stay there. Not only are they doing a follow up to a weak FF in just about every respect but graphics, they are doing it by reminding me of the inexcusable piece of crap that was FFX-2...

I happily enjoyed FFXIII. No where near the worst in the series for me, but hey, that's opinions and taste. I think a sequel makes a good addition because the lore/backstory of the world and the characters has already been built up, so hopefully the story can just focus on something interesting without everyone getting confused over the backstory or needing to read a datalog. Plus it means SE don't have to build from scratch, meaning a quicker release.

Is it milking? I dunno, I don't really see it any different than FF8 coming out what I believe was a year after FF7 (though that's a not a good omen, given the amount of fail I feel for 8 ). What with the low amount of jrpgs anyway this gen, I'm happy SE have annouced a few FF games to fill that slot.

I hope it releases this year im one of the few that enjoyed ff13bigboss5ak

Someone forgot about the past 10 years of FF games. FFX-2,FFXI, FFXII, and FFXIII were all bad games with FFXIII being by far the worst in the series. There is no reason to keep faith in square when they havent released a good FF game in almost 10 years.
