[QUOTE="ChampionoChumps"][QUOTE="metal_zombie"]what is MC/GR?TheEroica
Metacritic.

Gr is gamerankings. Square enix isnt very good anymore and sadly neithet are jrpgs... mix that up into a mmo and viola! Ff14

Nothing you said is true. SE is good as they proved with FFXIII and FFXIV is being overhauled right now. It has nothing to do with your dissatisfaction with JRPGs.

I won't be surprised if you didn't even try FFXIV.

Hurray! A game just below Average.

Decrate

The game is so bad that they didn't charge people after the initial month ended because they wanted people to stay until they 'fixed it'. Even that didn't prevent people from leaving in flocks. They stopped having public tracking of the server population about a month ago.

also, nowadays a 7/10 is considered "average", anything below is a fail

This is incorrect.

Because they released it when it was half finished. The new producer is literally overhauling every aspect of the game and releasing new content at the same time. Quote me on this, when the PS3 version goes live it will get a 8.5 or better.ChampionoChumps
You wish. What is totally broken , cant be fixed. To fix some UI controls , add few things to make economy better , fix some bugs WONT make a game from 4 to 9... This game needs seriously to make it from scratch... With WoW cataclysm , SW:TOR and Guild wars around the corner and the newest RIFT that is goin ok... Not to say Diablo 3 as well... Dont think FF14 got any luck to succeed on PC platform. With heavy patching or not On PS3 on the other hand i dont now how many would like to play a "broken" game and pay monthly fee for it.

I guess we will have to wait and see on that note, I personally don't doubt they can still turn the ship around. The game has allready taken great leaps from where it was on review day, and people who never even looked at the game wont know whats happening to the game now either. I suggest we wait and see.

i heard somewhere that Square enix did not make FFXIV at all. but it was a strange chinese company instead,in japan they even changed the chocobo's name for some chinese words that mean "HorseBird", and there were only a few ppl from SE working on FFXIV incluiding Nobuo uematsu and that art director whose name i always forget lol XD, anyway... a few months ago SE apologized for the game and they are now restructuring the entire game , and the game is currently free to play until the game is finished/fixed. (sry for my grammar btw... english is foreign for me.)

It was by Production Team 3 (Tanaka's team which also worked on FFXI) and also outsourced as well. I'm not entirely sure who the other dev was though.

Dudes. Game scores are not GPA scores. It's all in the manual at metacritic and GS.

I'm playing FF13 and couldn't careless less about its story just not very interesting story. The battles are... they're not the same guys that made games like chrono trigger and mario RPG that's for suremetal_zombie
I just started FF13 and I don't know what to think. The graphics are unrivaled to any console game I have played other than maybe Just Cause 2. The art direction and characters are absolutely gorgeous to look at. Still I can't really get into the battle system even though it has got better now that I am a few hours in. The story is sorta interesting but I have no idea what the hell is going on. Hope is really grinding on my nerves too.

I still cant fathom how this game got a green light to be release. Horrible UI, nothing to do besides grind, lag, no freaking Auction House (seriously?) pain in the ass to do much of anything. so yeah i say thats a well deserved score.

Good thing the old director got the boot and someone new took charged,

the game isn't broken it was just released 3/4 finished. the biggest two complaints are content and UI. It's been getting better... at a snails pace.

That's what hurt the game the most.

The creator of FF7 isn't with square enix anymore. That was the downhill for FF series, I thought ff12 was great though but went in the wrong direction after that.

jasonharris48

There is no single creator responsible for FFVII. It was a joint effort. If it were Sakaguchi's project, we'd be playing as "hot blooded detective Joe."

You know oddly enough that would of been kind of cool.

Maybe. This "hot blooded detective joe" was investigating why the future party members wanted to blow up Midgar. It would also take place in the real world in 1999. Overall, it sounds like it originally had potential for a terrible Final Fantasy. We know that Sakaguchi's ideas got retooled, at least partially from input from other Square staff, and I think the result we got is probably better.

The game is already hurting and bleeding money from Square-enix, i say that was much needed move to try and overturn the mess that old one left.

Generally, mediocre games on gamestop really do tend to score in the 7 range. Games below the 7 range are generally fundamentally flawed.

Tanaka is the best member of Production team 3
