I think its interesting that neither one is at a locked 30 fps. Either way my X1 S is ready.
During a livestreamed Active Time Report event from Tokyo, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata gave a few more pieces of information on the game.
He specified that currently the game runs with dynamic resolution on both PS4 and Xbox One. The version on Sony’s console runs between 900p and 1080p, while being close to holding the 30 FPS target. The Xbox One version runs between 765p and 900p and even here frame rate is close to 30 FPS.
That said, he clarified that work on optimization isn’t finished, and the team will continue to work on it until launch, especially on stabilizing the frame rate. On top of that, improvements to the graphics are also undergoing, and as an example the team has been working on improving the look of trees and shrubs at intermediate distances, which will be better in the final game.
