I wanted to ask 5 ewgf but 3 would be hard enough so 4 ewgf it is just to make sure i dont lose my pc :D
the only fighting series I care about is Melty Blood and that's a PC-centric fighting series :)
On a side note, look at those lines of japanese gamers waiting to buy Touhou Hisouten, a PC 2D doujin fighter on release day :)

seems they don't have troubles with the idea of playing fighters on PC :DAdrianWerner
Yeah, Melty Blood is a lot of fun. Re-Act had the best story mode I've seen in any fighter (visual-novel-hybrid goodness,) and the updated mechanics of Act Cadenza ver. B have made the franchise one of my favorites (I'm not big on fighters, either.) I play V. Akiha, Hisui and Sacchin mostly. Looking forward to Actress Again (Roa, hell yeah); I'm hoping it makes its way to PC quickly.
There's some great doujin fighters out there though. The two Touhou fighters should feel fresh to even the most seasoned of fighting game veterans (being projectile-based and all.) Queen of Heart and Eternal Fighter Zero are a couple other popular ones that I've tried..the game mechanics are decent in both, but I didn't like many of the characters.
Crucis Fatal/Fake is hitting the market later this year; the demo felt really solid for a 3D fighter..almost Guilty Gear-ish (I liked it a lot more than its predecessor; the quality of the voice acting for Rin and Saber was a bit surprising..and the Master/Servant mechanics are interesting.)
[QUOTE="mexicangordo"]I was thinking about that but im to afraid to mess these up, lol. I could have my bro do it for me, he says he could easily do it, but im afraid of having to pay yet another 80 bucks for a decent stick.Blackbond
Why can't he resoder and re-wire the old stick that was broken?
Because he says its pointless, i asked him and he told me that he cant just "fix it" He says im better off with a new one.[QUOTE="Blackbond"][QUOTE="mexicangordo"]I was thinking about that but im to afraid to mess these up, lol. I mean even if all the wiring is destroyed you could buy a PS1 controller gut the PCB and rewire it into the arcade stick for all the cost of less then $20 for parts. I mean you just can't let all those parts go to waste man! lol

Lol I would have said the same thing last year but I was able to play fighting games on my Pc because I didn't have a controller so eventually I got used to playing keyboard and was able to pull off combos like I was playing with arcade stick or ps3 pad.

wow all this talk about japanese fighting games... I had to look them up...then i found an article on "Japan's doujin games" which led me to a game called Doukutsu Monogatari aka cave story which is on psp also.....frigging sweet game ..thnxThey will work but they will be worse than on the consoles because most of them are ports and they are pretty bad, specially when the game is ported by Ubisoft.Supafly1...Huh?

...Huh?
What you mean huh? Most games nowadays are ported by Ubisoft and I'm pretty sure SF 4 will be done the same way and that won't be good because Ubisoft worked on Devil May Cry 3 port for the PC and that was a total disaster.

Well you cant say that will be the case now, it depends on how DMC4 works out, business models change you know?
Why does the PC get an add-on controller, yet the 360 default controller is posted? They make arcade sticks for the 360 as well, y'know. Fighting games "don't work" on PC because fighting games are a niche genre that have a huge audience in Japan, where 3D gaming PCs are almost non-existant.
There are fighting games on PC, but they tend to come from enthusiasts or companies not concerned about making it a primary source of income. And maybe that's fine - but those aren't generally good business factors for a healthy market for a particular genre on a particular platform.
Arcade Stick for PC
360 Gamepad
How would fighting games on PC, not work?
Painballz
They would, but only if you had a gamepad. The last time I had a fighting game on my PC, the keyboard wore out surprisingly quickly. Oh, actually, you'd need two gamepads, coz fighting games just aren't nearly as fun alone.

I think you missed the part about being able to hook up about any console controller to the PC. I'm not even a supporter of fighting games on PC as other than SFA3 and some older cla.ssics, I mostly stick to consoles. What I'm really not a supporter of is ignorance.

I kinda doubt anything will change if it's going to be an Ubisoft port. They tend to get worse at porting than better actually.

Well, you acted as if (the few) fighting games ported to the PC from consoles in the past have been worse than their console counterparts. Hence, "...Huh?"

Easy enough if you already have a 360.
What's funny is that my 360 controllers have probably seen more use with my PC than they have with my 360 between titles like Melty Blood and Trackmania.
THe PC isn't lacking the contros, its lacking the Fighting games.
Tekken 6 won't be on the PC
DOA 4 won't be on the PC
Virtua Fighter 5 won't be on the PC
Smash Bros. Brawl won't be on the PC
Soul Caliber 4 won't be on the PC
Steet Fighter 4 won't be on the PC.
The list goes on.jg4xchamp
Exactly. It's not that PC's themselves are bad for fighting games. They just won't get the releases.

oh you mean this......
This press release announces that China will launch a PC online game based on Tecmo's long runnin fighting game series Dead or Alive. The game is expected to launch in China and other Asian territories before the 2008 Summer Games but the press release hints at launches in other parts of the world later. Here is a snip:
"DOA ONLINE is not a simple replant from the console platform to the PC platform. It is a completely new game featuring the characteristics of a PC online game. We are confident that the game will become one of the most successful online games in China," said Mr. Yoshimi Yasuda, president and CEO of TECMO. "As China's largest online game company, we believe Shanda is the best partner of TECMO's global game platform "Lievo" in China. Additionally, we have the technical capability and actual achievement to implement worldwide online fighting matches in our competitive fighting game for the console platform. Combining TECMO's strong video game development and designing experience, and Shanda's expertise in online game operation, we are confident that our future cooperation will be a highly successful one."

Sorry. I just thought that the TC made this thread due to SF 4. Of course I hope that the game will be the same or even better than its counterparts but I don't think it will have a good chance at that.
