I only played XIII, skipped XIII-2 and I'll be skipping this.  I must admit though, I am curious as to how the hell Lightning ended up like that.  I'm sure its a lengthy, convoluted, dramatic, nonsensical story.

It's very obvious they made a second sequel to a game no one wanted a sequel for simply to milk their overtly expensive game engine with some more DLC. FF13 has not help up well, and Lightning is not a memorable character. Time to move the hell on, SE. Now give me a release date for Bravely Default, a REAL Final Fantasy game, sans the excessive baggage that comes with the Final Fantasy name. At this point, A Realm Reborn (FF14) looks more like a real FF.

A Realm Reborn (stylistically) looks like everything I want from a FF game.  The visuals and music are right on point.  If you showed it to someone from the 90s they could recognize it as a FF title, unlike XIII and even worse, XV.

I just really hate the idea of playing an MMO!  :x  I think I'll have to let down my guard for this one though.

Ironically enough this is based on the Miqo'te from FFXIV.

And the article states that the screenshot is her victory pose. I don't find this intrinsically different from any other DLC pack that grants skins.

 Granted, I'm so ready for this gen to be over, just so Square can move on from the XIII series. Development wise the last few years have been some of their worst. I think a clean slate free of current projects is really what they need.

I quit trying to understand the thought process at SE years ago.  They spent a whole gen making odd decisions.  These days I just hope for the best and expect the worst lol.
