This game isn't even final fantasy, it's essentially kingdom hearts without the disney characters.

Well no, clearly it is Final Fantasy, its just not turned based.

Thats like saying FFXIV: ARR is not Final Fantasy... when it clearly is. or Dissidia or any other.

I don't know how people can think making 3-4 party turn based line up combat is somehow good now, it was always a big limitation. without any difficulty.

Hell Final fantasy 14 is more Final Fantasy than friggin 7 to 13-3.

The game will be dark as hell and seeing all the shakespeare's quots im deeply hoping for a Romeo and Juliet type of a story between Noctis and Stella ( Noctis and Stella is indeed a love story similar to Romeo and Juliet by shakespeare )

If you dont like it go play Gears of War with dem big bros hugging and shit!

Final Fantasy has to a have a real love story! and if FF15 does it right it can be the best game of the generation! plz do it SE heck the characters names alone point that big time! ( Noctis and Stella)!

It better be at the very least amazing. FFXIII wasn't a terrible game, but it wasn't very good either. And then the constant milking just made it worse.

So, will FF die when this flops?

It was good in the past, and it's still good now. Bravely Default is proof the concept still works.

Which probably means it'll have to sell 10 million copies in order to be successful. That's troubling...

Lot of haters here.....that are probably playing the same repetitive shooter games with sequels and/or different series names.

i actually wouldn't mind that, as long as it is a good game, one of my favorite franchise of all time and a whole generation without a decent game.

I didn't like XIII-2, so I hope this game is nothing like it.

A lot of money means a great game, so this is good news.

meh I suppose after playing most other types of RPGs, it feels very limited and shallow now.

The quick gameplay section I saw looked so automatic and on rails that I have no idea what to think about the game. I'm cautiously optimistic, but I hope it has a better showing the next time I see it.

I'm still very excited for this game. Hopefully they don't ruin this regained hype by waiting till 2016 for a word on a release date.

I could care less unless that money makes the game memorable and one of the best ones in the franchise. Love Final Fantasy stories usually make for the best ones so I hope there is plenty of emotion in this one because it was severely lacking in the FF13 series.

It is not a coincidence these games are claimed to be the best in the series because love makes for great soundtracks and a reason to care about the characters. I am still a big fan of the franchise but I really hope the near 9 year wait for this game is worth it or SE are in trouble.

And it probably won't even live up to Final Fantasy XII, let alone classic Final Fantasy.

Now on to the real business, you seem to have very low faith in Square Enix and in love stories in general ( its your opinion i cant force you out of it ) but a love story in a video is never a bad thing ( you seem to make it sound as if the game will be completely ruined if it had a Romance aspect to it ), look at FFX that game had Romance in it and worked perfectly! same with many other FF games so a romantic aspect to it will NOT ruin or drop the quality of the game.. of course we dont know what the exact story of this game yet but from what i've seen so far everything points to a troubled romance going on between the two main characters Noctis and Stella ( Noctis is a Prince from one family and Stella is a Princess-ish summoner from another Family ).. note both families are big rivals to each other which is why the FF15 creator was saying that Noctis and Stella are "unfortunate enemies" with both having "My heart won't let go" feeling inside.

dosent this look familiar from a scene of Romeo and Juliet where both lovers hang out in secret without their families knowing?

I also did some research that Noctis full name meaning is Light of the Sky which what Juliet referred to Romeo by and Stellas full name meaning Strars of Night which what Romeo referred to Juliet.

Actually i agree, final fantasy need good love stories, but REAL love stories, not cheesy crap like ff xiii, the whole serah/snow thing made me puke.

Also not the main theme of the game and that not every cutscene in the game be someone being emo.

I'm a big fan of most of the FF games, but this one doesn't have me hyped. It looks a bit uninspired.

They spent a hundredth of a budget on Bravely Default, and they created one of the best FF games in years.

Honestly, I think FFXII is better than both VII and VIII. It's an amazing game IMO.

Well, then you have more FFXII cred that I do. I actually was a little disappointed with it back in the day, but it blew me away on subsequent replays. The only gripe I have with is that character interaction seems a bit cold.

Yeah that's it. If you don't like Final Fantasy you must only like shooters. Sheesh.

the game's supposed to have summons, chocobos and a world map and none of that is on Kingdom Hearts games. I mean, what else do you want beside the gaming turning out good? It's not like the FF series is known for being cookie cutter games, they always change even if it is for the worse.
