@sakaixx: Its good your waiting, hopefully they fix all the poor graphic issues by then. This game really needs a PS5Pro, it's a blurry mess of low resolution textures. It feels they rushed it. Im gonna wait for the PS5Pro coming out this year.
Imagine giving this advice when you play on the switch 🤣
I've only just started, but so far I'm really enjoying it. The intro to the story, which is different from the original, is very intriguing.
So far, I've found that it's actually fun to explore the huge fields with chocobos, thanks to the varied environments and side quests that are just the right amount and don't feel tedious. A good improvement over FF15. Combat has also improved from Remake, especially with the introduction of synergy skills, which add even more depth and visually fun to watch. And the music is just amazing! I'll definitely be playing it this weekend.
Sadly, my collector’s edition hasn’t delivered and the tracking hasn’t show updates for days :(
Get that with Canada Post and Purolator quite a bit. The updating can be quite shit, and often backdated.
I remember you mentioning that before, I think it was with Xenoblade lol
@Pedro: nope!
Go digital.😈
I do both, but really wanted the Collector’s edition for this one!
The dialogue is absolutely atrocious. It ruins even the scenes that would be great.
Because they do characters a bit better than the original, however, the dialogue and the voice acting bring it down.
The plot is beyond stupid, far far worse than the original game.
Once again, gaming culture powers the acclaim to this crap.
I have played a bit of it - almost at the end of Chapter Two and here are my thoughts.
Some of the blurring that people have referred to is intentional IMO and not the result of programming. I noticed that in dialogue the characters are sharp but the decor is not. Once he dialogue ends so does the blurring - this is a cinematic tool to focus the attention on one thing and away from another. It would not surprise me if a lot of the blurring is intentional - whether that is a good thing - well that is your opinion
The story is fine and the dialogue story-wise is okay. This is where the game hits its elegance. The main open world is fun to be in with combat to do and loot to discover. However......
The combat is terrible on classic which I tried to see how it plays. Cloud is meant to defend and attack but spends most of his time defending - this means both he and your party take more damage as a result than in the action mode. The idea is you let them charge up the ATB bar and you only have to use commands but this is not as good as the remake. You literally have have to intervene or die with some opponents and they are not the bosses/mini-bosses. Whilst I know that attack is the standard way of playing the classic mode is offered as an option and should work as intended.
The side missions - the side missions are more Assassins Creed than Yakuza. Yakuza's missions were generally funny which made them playable. A mission picking flowers in this game is not as fun as the really crazy ones you could get in Yakuza. The simulator is also worse. You have to do constant busy-work in order to earn simulator crystals. If you do not do that then I have to face Titan in his full power who is vastly too high a level for you - the equivalent of the first boss in a Soulsborne game. I think the stuff you will do for Chadley will get repetitive, like the Assassin Creed side stuff.
All in all I love the main story part of the game and that gets high praise from me. The side stuff is not so good and I can see why the score was 8 out of 10 rather than 9 or 10. Still a great game but with obvious flaws

I was just making fun of y'all Clown Cows. We all know Graphics is Gimmicks. I bought the game day 1 baby.
@Pedro: hmm true. But the boss cutscenes are very short. You not patient enough for few seconds cutscene? You probably haven't played FF6 to FFX then? Cause they got some long dialogue and cutscenes you can't skip.
I still have nightmares about failing against Yunalesca and needing to rewatch the cutscene every time.
Am fairly deep into Chapter 2 and having a great time with this game. Overall in general it looks fantastic. Some traversal animations can look a bit wonky but I love exploring the game's world. Combat is a lot of fun with a lot of diverse mechanics amongst characters. Walking around in Kalm it was crazy to here all the dialog from the townsfolk. Tons of charm and personality oozing from this game from the cast of characters and beyond. The mini game, Queen's Blood, is excellent. Will definitely be playing a lot of that for sure.
I hear this is just like FF16, so easy that you can clearly tell its made for people who've never held a controller in their life.
Cows be like: "Starfield sucks! It's 4k30fps! LOL!"
FF 7: Rebirth can't even do true 4k at 30fps
Cows be like: "OMG, FF 7: Rebirth is the best game evah!!!"
Watching this review right now. You should do the same lmao.
Damn. I’m still on Chapter 2. 😅
Just taking my sweet ass time with this game trying to do everything I can before moving on. Got all the intel gathered, points of interests, etc. Looks like I just have one sidequest left.

Yea that’s what I’m doing too.
8 hours in, just spending time int he Grasslands and doing all that is has to offer! the combat is really starting to click for me now, loving it.
14 hours in and i've yet to get to Upper Junon, been doing all Chadley's shit, which is getting tedious. Side quests are also just dump. Gonne head up to Junon tomorrow, as I finished Lower Junon.
I'm 14* hours in and reached Upper Junon. Did some side-quests and Chadley's shit. I invested more in the card game. Anyway, back to it. Bye!
I’m about 14 hours in as well and have just finally started Chapter 3. Very cool boss fight at the end of Chapter 2. Love how they tied it up to the original. The combat in this game is so incredibly fun.

Chapter 6 now! just finished up a pretty good boss and it made me use a lot of different spells and abilities.
