[QUOTE="ActicEdge"][QUOTE="DeathScape666"] Final Fantasy III DS is one of the worst games I've ever played. It is downright awful, and the strategy is so minimal aside from a few key aspects that every JRPG uses (alignment, weapons, armor, and such). The game is one long grind, and I can't believe I spent over 20 hours playing that garbage. If you want more details, just check out my review. Final Fantassy XII, I did not like, either. For awhile, I thought the series was the most overrated one, ever... Then I tried X, and fell in love with it. It's my favorite PS2 game (better than God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Jak and Daxter, and such), and was an absolute blast for the 50+ hours I put in to it. I would go and buy VII right now, but I am busy with Valkyria Chronicles right now (disappointing). I also don't want them to announce a remake right after I beat the game, because I might as well play the superior version. I'll probably pick up Xenogears, though, since I don't really see them remaking that game any time soon.DeathScape666
I honestly disagree because it seems that you went into FF 3 DS with the idea that it would compare to newer games. It won't, its an NES game with a fresh coat of paint. I expected that so everything else kinda just felt natural though I'm not up for a debate right now honestly. I hated 12 though from what I played and the charaters in 10 turn me away from it but anyway, how on earth do you call a series with as many games as FF overated after playing just 2?
Why bother even playing Final Fantasy III DS in this day and age when there are so many better JRPGs you can play? There's absolutely no reason, unless you want to revisit your childhood. I shouldn't lower my standards for a game just because it sucks. X had archetypal characters, and they had good character developement. Not sure why a game like Valkyria Chronicles doesn't get as many complaints for its story, even though it is boring, cliched, and generic as ****. It seems like the name "Final Fantasy" automatically makes it worse than a niche game, even though Valkyria Chronicles is inferior in almost every way. I meant to say, "I was starting to think it was overrated." I still wasn't sure, and needed a standard Final Fantasy game. III DS was too old, and XII was too different from the rest of the pack. From my understanding, X was similar to the highly acclaimed games (IV, VI, VII, VIII, and IX).Why can't I play 3 and all the other JRPGs? Also, why the hell do you think you get off telling me or anyone else why we should play what we want? Don't bother responding to me withposts like this, I can't even be botheredto acknowledge people who post like this. No one asked you to lower your standards, its not my problem if you enter remakes of NES era RPGs with the thought that its gonna be as refined as newer ones. As for VC, I haven't played it so I have no commet. But here's a thought, unlike FF 7, 8, 5, etc (not listing any I didn't play) FF 3 offered me tough as nails gameplay that forced you to be prepared when you were in battle. If you weren't observent or prepared, the game would mess you up and I appreciated the old school feel, the difficulty, simplicity, and lean plot. Unlike 7-10 and 12, minimal story made it easy for multiple play throughs since there wasn't much of the same BS to wade through. The game had great music and slick graphics as well. Its not perfect but it was worth the play to me and I have no regrets playing it. Its no where near one of the worse games I've played, I've waded through pure **** games before and had some fun. Maybe my standars are just more relaxed than yours, or you are too uptight about them, who knows.
