Released a couple of hours ago. Can't wait for this game!
@RpgGamer23q:
It's a damn beautiful thing, isn't it? Looks like we're going to get as well acquainted with Midgar as we did with the cities in GTA. That's definitely a good idea.
Released a couple of hours ago. Can't wait for a portion of this game!
Fixed that for you :)
@Chutebox:
You mean: the original version of the game. This version is greatly expanded upon and offers a different experience.

They are talking about this is just an episodic for FF7 Remake and not a fully full game like the original is. And to be frank, I'm way more hype for RE3 Remake than this remake. Now RE3 Remake is a full game compare to this.
But if you and everyone are so looking forward to FF7 Remake, I hope you all enjoy playing it.

Ya, this is not a full game because we already have the full game. It's episodic and I don't know why it's hard for people to accept it. Who cares if it is. If you enjoy it more power to ya!
@davillain-: True Resi 3 Remake is a full game but which one will last longer. My money's on FF7R, will likely be able to complete RE3 within 5-8 hrs whereas FF7:Midgar edition will likely get you 20-30 hours at least.
Looking forward to both.

Ha, I like that.
@davillain-:
I'm hyped for both Resident Evil 3 Remake and FFVII. Probably more on FFVII since it would be the first time Square Enix ever made one for Final Fantasy.
@Chutebox:
An episode emplies that you need one in order to continue playing the other. But these are stand alone games in themselves. Meaning full-feature length in terms of story and content.

Sure does look beautiful, been looking forward to this since it was announced, not long to go :)

Uh huh, with a whole lot of content from the original not included. Makes sense.
@Chutebox:
The original version is going to feel like a brief summary compared to this. As I said before, FFVIIR is a NEW VERSION OF THE STORY. As in, NOT THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL. NEW PLOT TWISTS, NEW CHARACTERS, MORE CONTENT. What part of that is so hard to comprehend?
The OG is a very different version with a smaller scope of the story.

And yet it's missing most of the original. Why is THAT so hard to understand?
It's FF7 with some new content...and a whole lot of content left for other episodes. Seems simple enough.
@Chutebox:
It's on a bigger scale than the original. You keep talking about it like it's following the exact same framework. The base is the same but the scale is bigger. The original Final Fantasy VII was smaller and more brief. Hell, I bet the first game will be just as long as the original. If not, more so thanks to the new story content.
@nepu7supastar7 I seriously doubt that, from what I have heard this game will be 20-30 hours long. But it is possible it has more content than FF7. Final Fantasy 7 was around 40 hours if I remember correctly. It ultimately depends on how fast content is cleared.
Why would I want to play as a terrorist?
Climate change terrorist, to be specific. Interesting time for the game's release. Climate change is a bigger deal today than it was back in 1997.
Climate Change, Late Stage Capitalism, Private Militaries, Political Corruption, Class Warfare.
People who are of the "I don't want politics in my game" crowd who nonetheless are very hyped for FF7, will be in for a rude awakening.
So...have they announced anything about how the rest of the episodes will work?
Is there a level cap, or can you hit lvl 99 in the first game?
Will anything carry over between FF7R:1 and the next 2-3 games, or do you start each game from scratch?
What is the release schedule for the rest of the story?
Will the remaining games also have PS4 ports, or will they only be next-gen exclusives?
(I'm guessing the answers are no, no cap, no, sometime over the next 10 years, and the last games will be PS5 exclusive - but Square Enix probably doesn't want to kill the hype by admitting to anything just yet)
@Maroxad:
If you cheated, you can beat the OG FFVII in 20-30 hours or less. I remember I borrowed a GameShark or something like it from a friend back then and did that. Sadly, it was the only way I beat FFVII the 1st time around. 😢 I was soooo ashamed....
@Planeforger:
I heard that they might just make it a 2 episode feature because developers in Square Enix want to work on FF VIII. But that's more a suggestion than a plan moving forward. But for FFVIIR, they immediately began working on the 2nd game after finishing this one. It probably will have a PS5 edition but the core resources were made on PS4. So PS4/Xbone release come 1st.

Even without cheats you could beat FF7 in 8 hours.
@Maroxad:
But it all depends on how fast you get through the adventure. Sometimes you might get stuck on a puzzle or two. Other times you just won't know where to go next.
@i_p_daily:
I know you love to troll Sony games but again, this is a series of games. 🙄
This is not a Sony game, Sony however moneyhatted it to keep it off of other platforms for a period of time, not that I care as I would never buy an episodic game unless I can buy it in full once its all released.
And my correction was correct as you are only getting a portion of the original game, Its episodic as in you won't be able to finish the game as portions will be sold to you at a later date and will start where the last episode finished.
If you're looking forward to it then more power to you, and I have not said anything bad about the game, but you need a reality check as to what it is as you have been drinking too much of the kool aid lol.
This is the end for xb1/pc/switch
This is beginning of a new Era the PS4 era of greatness THX U SONY FOR MAKING THIS GAME

Okay, fair enough. Just remember it could be a long time for another episodic to pop up.
@davillain-: You realize this game will take around 30 hours to beat? Even though it's episodic this one episode will be about 3x longer then the RE: Remakes.
I will buy both because I'm actually really enjoying these quality remakes.
That maybe, I still expect full game completion so I wouldn't need to return later unless it's a sequel of a new game. Either way, FF7 Remake will still sell for nostalgic crowd. Like you said, you'll buy both anyways.

Stop.
He makes cows look bad, so i'm more than happy for him to continue lol.
@i_p_daily:
The original game was on a much smaller scale in terms of longevity. You could beat it in 20-30 hours fair and square. FFVIIR is said to be around that length for this 1st game alone. Imagine how long it will be in total when the other game or games come out. It will be MASSIVE!
20-30 hours is long enough to be considered a game. And that's without taking everything else it has aside from the story. If anything, the OG FFVII left a ton of holes in the story and you only saw glimpses of the world in the form of pictures. There's a ton of ground we never got to cover and Square Soft couldn't pull it off because of the technical limitations of the hardware. They had to redact whatever they felt was unnecessary. Now, we're getting the FFVII that never happened. It's the best thing that we could've asked for.

That's a lot of conjecture there unless there is an interview where they said this.
Its ok to be passionate over a game, but reality is that this will be chopped up into multiple episodes that will cross gens, and by the time the last episode is out I doubt it will release on the PS4 and therefore new hardware will be needed to complete it.
@i_p_daily:
Most of it's not really conjecture, it's just reality for developers in the PS1 era. The hardware was strong for what it was but you were still very limited to what you could do. And to finish your product on time, you had to make compromise. It's not conjecture to believe that there was a hell of a lot more to the world in FFVII than what we got to see. Midgar's trek suffered the most since we barely saw images of a streets above the plate and only small pockets of the slums. It had 7 sectors, God's sake! We didn't even explore the entirety of 1!
And it was actually stated by the developers that they began work on the 2nd game immediately after finishing this one. They're not sure how many games they will make but it's possible that it'll just be 2. Who knows? Do you honestly expect SE to completely reconstruct resources for a PS5 release? Even when FFVII hits PS5, we'll still be able to play through the entire thing on PS4. Because it was MADE with this gen in mind. PS5 will merely upscale it.
Still not getting why people act so excited for SE taking the next 10 years to get out this entire game that we already know exactly what happens in. And we do not even get to set foot outside of Midgar for the next 3-5 years? YUCK.
Maybe if we are lucky, we will get to see my favorite character Cid in 5-7 years in the 3rd part of this silly cash grab. SE fans will eat up any crap sent their way, hardly surprised.
Lol, let me guess... non ps4 owners gonna hate?
Not anymore than ps4 owners hate it when a new Zelda game comes out.
This is Sony's thing.
Comparing this to Zelda is just laughable. SE has this game on a 1 year exclusive. And this game is not even made by Sony in any way. How is that even slightly comparable to Zelda?
The other thing is that it is a TOTAL misread to think that Non Ps4 owners are the only ones that take issue with this game. Anyone that did not want this made as an episodic game should take issue. Anyone that thinks that is just non-ps4 owners is simply delusional.

Yes it is conjecture as the devs could of been happy with the final result and did everything they wanted to. See how conjecture works.
And Square hasn't even confirmed how many episodes it will be yet so the final product is years away and who knows what will happen next gen.
