Final Fantasy XIII confirmed for PC . FF IV released.

Now here is something really interesting. The Steam logo appeared out of nowhere on the official website for Final Fantasy 13, suggesting that this JRPG from Square Enix may find its way on our platform. Naturally, take this with a grain of salt, however we may hear about it in the next couple of days (during TGS 2014 that begins tomorrow).

For obvious reasons, we grabbed a screenshot that shows the Steam logo on FFXIII’s official Japanese website (in case Square Enix removes it).

Moreover, PC platform is now listed on Final Fantasy XIII’s official North American website.

It’s pretty unclear which Final Fantasy 13 (FFXIII, FFXIII-2 or FFXIII Lighting Returns) will hit the PC. Perhaps a bundle featuring all of them? Now that would be a great surprise.

For what is worth, Final Fantasy IV has been rated by PEGI, suggesting that the DS/iOS version of this classic JRPG will be coming to Valve’s distribution service soon.

There is no doubt that this news will please most FF PC fans, as it opens up the possibility of a PC version for Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy IV

IGN reports :

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy IV received a PEGI rating today and appears to be coming to PC.

The listing also shows a PC release date of September 17, 2014.

First spotted on Twitter, PEGI, or the Pan European Game Information, rated the classic Japanese role-playing game a 12 for “non realistic looking violence towards human characters” and “mild bad language”.

PEGI is a European rating system for parents that functions similarly to the United States’ Entertainment Software Ratings Board, or ESRB, which just happened to turn 20 years old today.

Final Fantasy IV, originally known as Final Fantasy II on the SNES in the US, has been rereleased numerous times over the years with the most recent version coming to mobile devices.

We here at IGN loved the definitive version of Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection on PlayStation Portable giving it a 9.0.

It remains to be seen if the date listed is a European only release date since no announcement has been made for a US release of the game.

FINALLY! Greatest RPGs of last gen.

Most shit FF ever. It practically plays itself. If they bundled all three for $20 it would still be too much.

Game's a masterpiece. You can tell because Famitsu gave it a 39/40. Definitely the best RPG of the 7th gen.

Well, at least we may say for sure that FFXV will be coming to PC. They wouldn´t port XIII if they didn´t have in mind to bring the entire franchise to PC.

After this , Castlevania , MGS V , Rising etc and their comments about possibility of PC release , I think FF XV is guaranteed on PC . I don't agree with FF XIII being best RPG of last gen . I think Witcher and Origins take the crown .

XIII wasn't great but it was decent enough that I finished it and had a good time. Picked up the sequel in a PSN sale and haven't really gotten into it yet.

Square-Enix seems to be embracing the PC more though, and good on them. There's a lot more they need to fix as a company though.

Best of last gen ? Who in his sound mind would believe that ? It´s the WORST final fantasy and it´s probably the worst RPG of the last gen, too. This game is sooooooooooo linear and unfun so that even gorgeous cinematics don´t save it. I literally hate all traditional JRPGs now becuase of this game.

It doesn´t kinda look bad at the beginning, but the more you play the more jadded you become with JRPG genre in general. This game has literally ZERO gameplay variety. You just run in sraight line for hours (literally), combat monsters and watch cinematics; you have zero interaction or influence on the game´s world. It´s just fight your way through. But even the combat is fully automatic, so in the end, it all comes down to watching really long cinematics.

I can´t recommend this game to anyone who loves JRPG because after this game you will start hating them.

And here I thought that Square Enix Liked us QQ FF13 is not a game, it is th closest a dev can come to a deatht threat -.-

Only played about 10 hours of the first on my 360 and it was enough for me to write off all of the XIII series. Just hope they do better with XV.

Terrible. Reviews keep saying that she loses all her personality in Lightning Returns, except for her wish to protect her sister. Having only played parts of XIII-1, what else is there to lose?

Protecting Serah is all she does and basically sums up her "personality" in Part 1. Jesus Christ.

I'd prefer older Final Fantasy Games go onto Steam, Final Fantasy III was great on steam.

I'd buy Final Fantasy IV in a heartbeat from steam, and I'd throw my money at Steam if Crisis Core ever went on steam.

It was one of the better ones. The series has gotten consistently worse since FFVII for me, I lost interest about 3 hours into FFX and havent played a FF game since.

FFXIII will also become the first game on Steam to not sell one copy.

Imagine...breaking the magical 30 fps barrier on a game like that. Being able to play it without my eyes starting to bleed!

The real question is why hasn't this happened sooner? The engines cross-platform scalability was one of the things they played up early on.

All this hatred towards FF XIII yet people are dying to get a glimpse of FF XV. I would never understand JRPG fans.

FFIV is a masterpiece.On the other hand the 13 trilogy is total garbage.

For me, FFXIII straight up murdered the series. I didn't even think about trying its sub-sequels and in all honesty, I think FFXV looks even fucking worse. I'm done.

But yes, I do see lots of people that think FFXV is going to be some huge turn around redeem the series.. which I think is fucking stupid. It's a mismanaged development hell game that started as a spin off, but was shoe horned into being a main entry because SE didn't have anything else. Fans get to look forward to taking control of a J-pop boy band that will somehow destroy some super being while at the same time experiencing yet another terrible love story attempt from SE. All this layered on top of Kingdom Hearts gameplay.... Oh and it's a Nomura game (some people actually mistake this for being a good thing).

Info is sparse, but it appears to be a port of the DS/Android version (with 3D graphics) so not the complete edition.
