Either way, they themselves said that they are building the game on PC, its standard for any game to have assetts made there but not the whole game, the difference is that once the game is complete theyll optimise for consoles and leave the PC at that point

i was being sarcastic if you didnt detect it.

also yes i know how development works. im just saying those pics are not ff13 realtime pics or anything they are from a tech demo.

No i thought you were saying all games are built on PCs. But i understand, those arent gameplay, or even realtime from the game, so it doesnt matter if its ugly

[QUOTE="MojondeVACA"][QUOTE="pseudocaesar"]Sigh. PS3 is the lead platform. Btw those pics have been posted before (Final Fantasy Downgrade confirmed thread) and have proven to be mere development shots. Not even in game. Hopefully we see some nice ps3 screens at the TGSpseudocaesar

No it isnt stop making things ups..neither console is the lead platform.

No I think you will find that the years of development and the fact that SE said themselves that the 360 port hasnt even begun yet proves my statement to be correct.

Then why the 360 controller? If they were still in PS3 development mode, wouldn't they be using the PS3's Bluetooth-compatible controller instead (which, BTW, is also PC compatible with just minor software tinkering).

So take this one with a huge grain of salt, as it's one of those he said/she said kind of things. According to a post on CoG there was a link on a Norwegian board to a Gamespot article detailing a bunch of features for the upcoming Mass Effect sequel. Amongst all the nugget of goodness that will be in ME2 is a new expanded squad (up to 5) and the ability to bring human players into that squad for full 5 player co-op.

Some other rumored features of interest include the ability to import your Mass Effect 1 character, a raised level cap of 120, and weapon customization. According to the post the game is set to have a 6 month timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft for the Xbox 360, because even though Microsoft Game Studio published the first title, Electronic Arts now owns the rights.

FF13 360 will not work as well as the PS3 version because....

It will mostly take 2 discs because of all the HD content and Storytelling that are FF games.. Cut-scenes and story line should eclipse MGS4.

LAck of HDD on all 360s, means less storage available. I'm pretty sure the Arcade model is flying out the shelfs so no arguement there.

Crystal engine was built for Cell architecture, although they will be coding specifically for 360 after they finished the PS3 version. FFXIII on PS3 has many more years of technology and development to it. Remember SE has been releasing several 360 games from the start... FFXI,IU,Lost Oddysey and Star Ocean which is by far the best looking one is no where close to FFXIII or Versus.

Could be wrong.. just an opinion.

What game HASN'T been made using a PC in the last 20 odd years? And don't say "Does using an Amiga count?" :P Coding is always done on PC using emulators, then the code is compiled and run on special development versions of the console that can run the unfinished code so they can find bugs.

now companies are going further though. Capcom is actualy designing AND running the whole game on PC, later on only porting to consoles

[QUOTE="DeadSpaceXIII"]There is no PC version. The 360 controller is actually a Logitech controller made for computers. Seeing as how games are made on PC first the controller would make it fairly easy to develop to game.MojondeVACA

Yes but crystal tools are based on PC hardware..and that isnt a logitech controller u can clearly see that is the normal xbox360 controller..

Uh, Logitech makes the Controllers for M$.

do you have ANY idea what you're talking about? :|

must not seeing how you obviously don't know that MS released the 360 wired controller BEFORE the 360 launched and it came with PC drivers so you could use it on your PC.

I know that, i've owned one before November 2005.

There is a such thing as PC controllers that replicate console controllers man.

okay....? show me a link to a controller that looks EXACTLY like the 360 controller that ISN'T a MS product then? Bet you can't....

Logitech Chillstream Controller, one the many 3rd party controllers. I know MadCatz has a few and Gamestop has one as well. I'm not saying they aren't using the Microsoft controller, they most likely are. Point is its being used for pc because its most likely helping development go along smoother. I think I just typed out my past comments in a wrong way.

k....:) We see it all the time though when devs show off their games for the 360/PC. They tend to use the 360 controller because they might as well develope the game while using the controller so they know just how the controls will feel. I remember an Alan Wake demonstration for the PC being done using the 360 controller as well.

It doesn't surprise me that devs use it seeing how it's by far the most comfortable controller to date. :)

Yup, and its also one of my favorite game engines. I'm suprised as heck Capcom hasn't been pimping that engine out to 3rd parties, it beats the crap out of UE3 (OMG, AA?!) and parity seems to be easily achieved between versions.

Microsoft makes its own peripherals. Been doing that for ages, since they began producing mice. Indeed, Microsoft and Logitech are rivals in the PC peripheral market--particularly mice.

No, but there must be some kind of 360 emphasis for them to be using a 360 controller. Otherwise, they'd be using a PS3 controller.

Logitech mice are rubbish nowadays. I bought one of their notebook mice with the tiny receiver, absolute crap. My MS bluetooth laser mouse is way better, and cost less to boot.

Guess it depends on the mouse. I went for a simple Logitech LX3. Inexpensive, no frills, but smooth as silk.

That being said, they said they wouldn't work on a 360 version until they were done with the PS3 version. So why's the 360 controller there (which would likely be there for testing controller logic and configurations) if the aforesaid is the case? If anything, we should be seeing a PS3 controller there.

we have seen many similar pictures from different development studios with 360 controlers on the side. Maybe it's the photographer that wanted the controler in the picture so people like us would start speculating

The conroller IS an Xbox360 controller. You can see the guide button on it if you look close. But, yeah PCs are used in the development of ALL games so the TC is definitely confused.

And the devs aren't dumb. Someone's bound to ask, "Why?" and, upon learning it's potential propaganda, might refuse to play along for the sake of integrity.

PS. And PS3 controllers can be used on PCs, too.

And tick off the gamers who could potentially buy your game, to the point that they may refuse to buy? There's been a lot of dishonesty over claims lately, and--frankly--gamers are getting tired of it. Whatever happened to up-front honesty?
