I've been waiting really long for that one. It has been discounted several times before but I was always hesitant to pick it up. Fallout: New Vegas, that's you. I'm so happy it's now BC and somehow this piece of news slipped under my radar.

Now, cue SolidTy saying how this feature is useless and most games run like arse, and if I was a true gamer, I'd have played it on 360 anyway.

I do think NV is the best Fallout on consoles but it's riddled with so many bugs you need the console to enjoy it.

Great game, but it's even better with mods on PC.

Great game finished it at least twice last gen. Probably won't be replaying it though, I'm mostly into the XBLA titles as far as BC is concerned. Actually I make exceptions on that sometimes, playing XCOM now it's quite good I'm surprised.

New Vegas is baller. It's even ballier on PC with mods. Good news for those who have it on 360.

I mean, where else other than a Fallout game, do you ride a train that is actually a head?

I bought Fallout Brotherhood of Steel for my OG XBOX a month back, great game!

Ah, one of my favorite games. I don't recommend playing Bethesda games on consoles, that's the worst way to play these games. I hope that's at least the Ultimate Edition. That's the most up to date, vanilla version.

I think FO4 is better than NV. NV is more of an RPG than FO4, yes, but it's also a shallow mess that doesn't hold a candle to decades of stronger RPGs out there. FO4 is a better 'game' even if it's a much worse RPG - if that makes any sense

New Vegas left me traumatized... After more than 100h the game got so broken that I had to give up playing it.

I never fell in line with what I suspect is merely an attempt by some to be edgy and against the grain, by being all "Fallout NV is teh better than Fallout 3".

I own both and played both. I like NV a lot but I preferred 3.

And LOL at the SolidTy comment. Yeah ole 'Ty shits on X1 BC a lot. But having known him over the last decade+ here, I finally give up and agree even with some of the guys I play online with from SW on PS4: He has gone cow. No amount of excuses or rationales will prove different to me anymore. There is straight up a preference and it shows in posting. Nothing wrong with it at all. I believe most do have a preference and some just play excuses and stay in the closet about it.

No way, it's close. I've pretty much played everything worth playing as far as quality role playing games go (except for Wizardry and the Ultima games before VII), and from my personal experience New Vegas is up there with the best, albeit not top 10 material. I'd put it in a top 20 list.

The thing with RPGs is that they're best experienced through multiple playthroughs, a good role playing game will give you incentive to role play different sets of character builds, not just one, and depending on said choices of character builds it will give you access to different content. New Vegas is an ace here, and if you haven't played its DLC, you're missing out. As a whole, it's a fantastic game worth playing for the depth of its wonderfully written content.

As a game, i guess if you ignore the horrible quest design, abysmally shit dialogue system and horrible writing.. and horrible everything-that-has-to-do-with-the-RPG-genre (lmao), Fallout 4 is a better game.

Bethesda games are fun to play, no doubt. They can be fantastic games once you tackle the endless content given through mods. Hell, i'm playing Skyrim right now. But, they're not even close to being a decent representative of the genre.

@Lucianu: I don't know man, having lots of things to do and lots of factions are key ingredients for a great RPG, but those alone don't = deep or quality. I imagine you agree 100% with that statement, and it sounds like you're every bit into RPGs as I am (hell, maybe more - I'm not out for a competition), and my guess is we just have different tastes. I might have been a bit harsh in my description of NV - I'll grant that. It was so buggy and I was wasn't very compelled by a lot of the world, so I have a sour opinion of it. That's where FO4, which doesn't try as hard on that front, makes for a more streamlined "sandbox blow bad guys up in a cool historic city" game that's a little easier for me to just enjoy for what it is and not bemoan what it fails to be.

Ah, well there you have it. My first experience with New Vegas was with the Ultimate Edition on PC, and a couple of graphical mods on top. I haven't experienced any bugs in my multiple playthroughs of the game. I didn't play it at release, and i wouldn't have touched a console version even if i had one (i keep far away from Bethesda games on home consoles).

You should give it a go with some recommended first-playthrough mods, like graphics and stuff. It's 2016, New Vegas is completely polished at this point.

Instead of remaking the crappy n shallow Skyrim, FO:NV is the game that deserved a proper remake.

I liked Fallout 3 better, and Fallout 4 wasn't bad either, I thought New Vegas performance really shit the bed toward the end too.

@rekonmeister: when I played fo4 it felt like a reskinned Skyrim with guns. I got it for free so it doesn't bother me. It was alright.

As much as I like Fallout 3 which got me into the Fallout series and into WRPG, I find Fallout New Vegas to be better.
