Indirect? No, I'm pretty directly insulting you.Typo on my part. I was in a hurry to add that extra bit to my post, but whatever. Still doesn't change the fact that you're getting mad because a person you don't even know is probably going to purchase a 100% legal product. THAT is pathetic. No, you can buy whatever you want. What I'm calling you out for is the idea that it's okay to try to gain advantage over other players because you're not happy with your in-game performance. Oh, and spare the petty attempts at indirect insults. Implying that I lack character or integrity because I'm considering purchasing a legal product is pretty pathetic.

It is pretty cheap I suppose... this device clearly gives the user a great advantage over those using a controller (more sothan a gaming mouse vs office mouse - don't use that comparison).
ok, as far as the cheating thing goes. if it was as smooth and fast as a game developed for the mouse....yeah, but it's not. you have the same restrictions as the controller. plus the software has to reverse all the code there specificially for analog sticks so you'll never get that smooth PC feel. that said, for those of us that are used to kb/m, this is an alternative for us.
As if the game doesn't have enough balance issues with Armor Lock, now we have to deal with the equivilent of a modded controller because some people just don't want to play fair. Awesome.
Exactly, why can't people have choice as to what control scheme suits them?ok, as far as the cheating thing goes. if it was as smooth and fast as a game developed for the mouse....yeah, but it's not. you have the same restrictions as the controller. plus the software has to reverse all the code there specificially for analog sticks so you'll never get that smooth PC feel. that said, for those of us that are used to kb/m, this is an alternative for us.

That is a console problem, not a blops problem. Consoles use peer-2-peer for gaming, so you are relying on another person's 360 as the server (and a lot of them are on wireless LOL)
The XIM is almost needed to make up for the host having a 0 ping.

Everyone has to deal with that. You're not entitled to an advantage.Apparently, you don't know how it works in Black Ops on consoles. Most of the time, it doesn't come down to who is better, just who has the better connection, and/or who is host. If we console players had dedicated servers seen on the PC version of the game, we wouldn't have to worry about unfair host advantages or lag in the first place. And if you're not host and you're sitting on anything less than a full 4 bar connection all the time, you might as well not even play. Any time I'm on 4 bars, I do consistenly well. (though it's still laggy, just not as much) I can remember when I had to play on a wi-fi connection a little last month, though. 2 and 3 bars at best all the time. The result: lag. Really bad lag.
We're talking firing 3-4 shots and hitting a guy, only to die, then watch the killcam, and see that I didn't even fire a shot. :? As I've said before, it isn't an upgrade. It's a complete change. You don't compete at the Archery stand with a Punt gun, why would you use a Mouse in a Controller game? Their category is different for a reason.
It's not the nature of capitalism/gaming/hobbies, it's the nature of a frustrated player who can't win on leveled ground and must, therefor, rely on skill-unrelated benefits.

Wanting to overcome the issue is a normal response, I think. Doing so by unfair means, or in this case, means that violate your user agreement (using an unlicensed product on their service) isn't cool, and I totally see why people are upset by this. I'm one of them.I thought Reach was actually being ported to PC. HOW DARE YE LIE TO ME! I actually had a hope of running it in HD (Since it isn't lolz) and 60 FPS.
There's no such thing as a level playing field in Black Ops on consoles. I think he's talking about Halo, man. Which has a pretty level playing field.[QUOTE="TehOverkill"] it's the nature of a frustrated player who can't win on leveled groundDoolz2024
But really what this boils down to is that Microsoft has not licensed it, so they are in effect saying that you cannot use it on their system. That is what makes it cheating. If this were I licensed product, I'd say it's cheap, but not cheating as it's allowed. But by the user agreement, you are not allowed to use an unlicensed product with the 360, at least on Live. If so, they will ban you. The only reason why you aren't likely to be banned with this product yet is because it mimics a real controller, and they can't detect it...yet. You better believe the day that they can, the banhammer will come down hard on people. The only people who say this isn't cheating are the people who are trying to justify its usage. It's not the same as buying a better mouse or internet connection. This product is not allowed on XBox Live. What's so hard to understand about that? romans828_2002http://www.xim3.com/community/index.php?topic=9535.0

I think its funny how everyone gets so defensive about people who have the XIM3, they act like by having this that player will automatically become an awesome player and will dominate. If the person is truly good at using the controller then who cares what they are using, you dont become a gaming god because you have the XIM3. Stop acting childish.

Stop kidding yourself. It's not just a remap: for all effects and purposes, the player now has a mouse and keyboard instead of a controller. Just google "optimizing XIM3 360" and you'll see.

So play something else. Problem solved. Agreed. If Black Ops is giving him that much trouble, pick up either World at War, Modern Warfare 2, or (IMO the best Call of Duty game in the past four years) CoD4: Modern Warfare. Its virtually the same style of gameplay, killstreaks, perks, attachments, etc.The very fact that this thing even exists isa testament to how poor thumbsticks are for playing shooters. What I get from consolers is "we know controllers suck and we don't want that to change", when instead they should be embracing this as it will bring more players to console gaming.
