Nah, that's just a recent thing. With all Nintendo games. They're full of tutorials, they won't shut up. Thankfully, the last three big Nintendo releases (Pokemon X/Y, Link Between Worlds, Mario 3D World) all seem to be reversing this trend, so let's see if they stick with that.

Bayonetta and Vanquish were great. Revengeance was just cool fun, I liked it a lot. Never played Anarchy Reigns, something about it rubs me the wrong way. Wonderful 101 looks great, really want to get around to it.

Bayonetta 2 is supposed to be H1 2014, I think. In any case, it's a confirmed 2014 release, so unless Nintendo decides to give the Wii U a nine month drought again, there should be no reason for the delay, the development seems to be almost done.

That´s pretty unimpressive for a game that has been out for almost two years in the market, especially considering it´s one of the very best and apparently most "popular" games on the 3DS.

And being niche or not isn´t really an excuse, tons of indie games these days sell that in a lot less time and most of them are really niche genres.

So yeah,I guess selling 1M copies is great and all but when you put things into perspective it looks a lot less impressive tbh.

It released this year, bro. And it's pretty darn impressive considering it was a mid budget game in a series that has never once broken a million, and that the games are by nature intimidating and yes, niche. I don't know why you want to take away from what is undoubtedly a great achievement, especially since the game was profitable just weeks after release. And it being popular? It's popular on gaming forums and boards. The average 3DS owner doesn't know what the **** it is.

Fair enough, though I still don´t think it´s all that impressive lol.

And it was released this year in the west but it has been available in Japan since april 2012,so almost two years ago,and considering these games usually sell the most in Japan...

Yeah Anarchy Reigns is at best okay, I don't know. The core combat feels fine, if a little shallow after what they've done with a Bayonetta or even a Revengeance, but it feels good. I liked the over the topness of their games, the soundtracks are great(madworld was better by a hair in this regard), and as a rental it was solid for trying the mp. I wouldn't um gone out of my way to play it, but yeah it wasn't ... I guess I wouldn't call it "good". I'd say it's interesting for what it is.

Revengeance was a lot of fun though. That Sam Fight was hype, Senator Armstrong's rant is top tier over the top bullshit that's awesome lol.

If they aren't going to do anything new with the core formula of the game, they should at the least bring back some of the stuff they dropped from the older Fire Emblem games.

Awakening was fun, but it was essentially made for pusscakes.

They're not going to, the older fire emblem didn't appeal to that many people. I loved the older ones but i understand people don't like games that challenge you that way having to repeat things for making mistakes and a political warfare story is to put some people to sleep. I personally love it, the warfare and strategy used are interesting but people aren't generally into that type of story even less gameplay that punishes you forcing you to restart + that story line. We can consider the older fire emblems gone for good, the new one offer you an insane advantage over the enemy and it rolls with an anime like story line full of a lot of things not explained but just to drive the plot no one will complain.

Yeah the thing is they already created a solid balance for that with casual mode. Or at the least how about we start unlocking hard from the get go, and in hard it has stuff like fog of war, and a lot of the stuff that made Fire Emblem more satisfying to play. Don't get me wrong cutting the teeth off the game wasn't the only drawback(I also absolutely disliked the lack of variety with the mission designs), but it seemed like a silly compromise considering they had such an excellent answer to find a good balance.

Plus in general it always felt like Fire Emblem Awakening had a better marketing campaign than Radient Dawn and Shadow Dragon did. Matter of fact Shadow Dragon felt like it stealth launched.

Well honestly.. Radiant Dawn was one of the hardest, and people already found fire emblem challenging so imagine how many people didn't enjoy the game. The game was a tad challenging though in the beginning and in the end. But I agree, Fire Emblem never did have much advertising until awakening, but i doubt advertising would have saved it. It's just like Metroid, it doesn't sell as well as Mario and Zelda to Nintendo. I'm afraid what they might do to it. Though metroid isn't hard, but doesn't seem to have that wide appeal either.

I know you're probably trolling, but Fire Emblem was 1990 bro.

@LegatoSkyheart: I thought the dating sim part made it kinda obvious lol. I brought Awakening and its my first FE. I was expecting drones of people to point out my mistake.

We talk about games on here all the time that sell over a million copies. The fact is only a very small percent of games sell over a million copies. Normally a game like FE would be expected to sell around 200,000 to 300,000 copies.

I don't know about that ... I've yet to beat it, out of sheer frustration from dying so much. (Then again, I started out on Hard -- maybe not my best decision.)

I was never that fond of these kinds of games, but my friend picked it up as a Christmas gift for me and I can't stop playing it. So fun and addicting. Will definitely buy a sequel if one's released.

I think yeah, they're going to build upon Awakening and start bringing things back. I expect them to bring back fog of war with the next installment, for example.

I also fully expect them to keep the Casual Mode without permadeath, however.

Again that's fine, I have no problem with a game becoming accessible. A lot of my favorite games are accessible(Bayonetta for instance, has an idiot friendly difficulty), but Awakening for as good as it was a little compromised against the likes of a Valkyria Chronicles(probably my favorite game in that genre), or a Tactics Ogre, and frankly I'd rather play FF: Tactics.

At the least I am interested to see how they tackle Advance Wars for the 3DS. The last Advance Wars they made was...was Battalion Wars territory.

VC felt almost the same difficulty level as FEA.Once you got the orders you were able to destory and breeze through most levels really fast.
