In my opinion, Alan wake comes together and has a nice "real" vibe to it. Yeah, Alan wake has weaker textures/animation. But all the light/shadow(I also think they use SSAO and SS) also makes it look very good it is close. This is only one part I expect the game too look better in other parts as well, like the slightly older videos.

Game looks great, aint no body will say otherwise, its just you can feel that engine is a bit old.Textures look meh and poly count appears to be pretty low in comparison with newer games.Lightning is great, volumetric fog looks nice and all,but game looks a bit to stiff.Anyway,Gears 2 is still benchmark for 360 exclusives and it will be bettered by RDR,then Gears 3 which could REALLY look nice according to what Cliffy said in latest interview and what Epic showed with updated UE3.We wont count Crysis 2 in this :P People should just take it easy with these gfx wars,it lasts now for 5 yrs and there is no sign of that stopin,so cows have to include MGS4 and Rachet in their "cant be done on 360 lists" while lemms are hyping AW to be better then UC2 while it really does not.

At what stage of development are you for G3?
"We're a year out. At this point, the campaign is fully playable. A lot of the co-op and multiplayer features are coming online. Previously, for Gears 2, our tagline was "Bigger, Better, More Bad-Ass," which got played out very quickly. The key messages for Gears 3 are that it will be the best-looking, most fun Gears to date but it'll also be the most polished. And that's the beauty of holding it off until April. Holiday [timeframe for releases] is still so jammed so it's, like, let's carve out our own window like Will Smith used to do with July 4th. Let's call out our date and take the next year and just make a great game and polish it. Because the bar continues to be raised. There's some amazing games out there, from Uncharted 2 to Modern Warfare, and we need to exceed that bar [from where they raised it]."
Well, I gonna have to disagree with you here, AWs engine seems very dynamic, I meas tornado's, things flying places, weather, lights moving, shooting lights out, etc. The textures are probably slightly above average and poly counts on the character is slightly below average, but AW looks very detailed to me, especially in interiors. That said I don't think RDR looks that great. I know C2 will probaby crush everything, I don't think epic has anything on remedy either.
Well Epic is just notch above 99% of devs when it comes to graphics and rendering engines, and they are quite better then Remedy.Gears 1 was first undisputed gfx king.Gears 2 was rushed and engine wasnt advanced that much(like this time around) but it was still best looking game on consoles in 2008.Gears 3 will have more time to polish, more advanced UE3,i dont know if you have seen GDC 10 updates but it looks second to CE3,AMAZING.They now have much better foliage, texture streaming, shadowing, better lightning, added indirect lightning and much better animation, thats just enough to sit there with the best.
RDR looks to me easily better then AW,even textures mind you its open world game look better then AW.Character models look amazing, almost UC2ish and animation could end up being one of the best this gen.I dont know if you watched this trailer but it does look more impressive then AW.
