First 18 Minutes of Bloodborne *Spoilers*

IGN said they visited a Japanese studio and Sony's Japan Studio, and they will have exclusive coverage on a game in early February. That game turned out to be Bloodborne.

First and foremost, come back on Monday, February 2nd at 9am PT/12pm ET/5pm GMT/3pm (next day) AEST for the first 18 virtually uninterrupted minutes of Bloodborne. I could gush on and on about how great the opening is, but honestly, the footage speaks for itself.

The rest of February is going to be packed with amazing reveals, including brand-new enemies, crazy new environments, and so much more. We sat down with Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki and picked his brain about what makes his games so appealing to us masochists. And of course, we spent hours going hands-on with a good chunk of the game (spoilers, we died a lot).

I love hard games but not frustration ones! I read somewhere that the difficulty in Bloodborne will be more 'balanced' than in previous games. Maybe that's for good :P

Even though I'm not a fan of these types of games, I can see this games being a 10 or 9.

I truly cannot wait for this. My most hyped game for this gen so far. I'm going to have to break out my Demon's Souls game tonight and play though it.

I feel like I'm the only one that thinks Demons is much easier than Dark.

Then again, I played Dark before Demons, so I guess the experience helped.

Well @TheEroica tried my copy of Demon Souls and strangely hasn't finished it. I told him I didn't want the game back either. :P

I have this feeling, to many gamers, Sony is like some dude in a van with no Windows and Bloodborne is like the candy they're using trying to lure in innocent gamers.

As someone who turtles his way along the Dark series (still have Demons' in tow) using a shield and very little when it comes to dodging, this is gonna be a kick in the pants.

Funny, I rolled into demon souls like a boss, love the gameplay, love the whole approach... Game/series deserves the praise it gets... One of the few that does actually. I just got caught up on a boss and moved on, getting pulled in other gaming directions... Dark souls I spent a significant amount of time with though. That game is the straight dope.

It is easier than Dark Souls if you use magic.

You can also quickly press the Playstation home button and quit the game just as you die to not lose any souls and start at the last area the game autosaved. Which is whereever you were right before you died, usually.

Mang, I'm ready. Playing through Dark Souls recently has me hyped! Finally going to put my PS4 to work.

We knew Bloodborne would be something special already. There hasn't been a weak vid for it yet, and from what I've seen Bloodborne's enemy types take a shit all over Dark Souls.

I hope the opposite for sure.

That's okay. I hate getting pulled into other games. It's like "HEY HERE'S SOMETHING NEW", but I end up giving up on something I was working on. Happens to all of us.

I prefer Demons over Dark Souls.

I don't think I've ever used the PS button. Hell, I didn't even get to PVP the Old Monk. I guess nobody was on, so I was up against the AI. Ridiculously easy.

I kept up a nice balance between melee and magic. The only magic I had was Soul Arrow and Water Veil. I didn't cheese my way through it.

I'm already bored of this game and it hasn't even come out yet lol

Looks like cows will finally get something worth playing in the near future. Good for you guys.

I got the first dark souls on PC. Didnt get too far, but I see why its so highly regarded. That niche genre just isnt for me.

Indeed, some games are not for everyone. Souls games gave back the fun of challenging gameplay that had been long lost in gaming, making it a beacon for that kind of pleasure that was almost extinct.

I hope they remain true to that and keep the challenge up for all time and all their future titles. It is what makes them so special.
