First Lair, now Uncharted .. PS3 has me impressed with the new FINALLY good pics

All i can say is ... WOW !!! Uncharted looks amazing in those new PROPER pics, i am already saving for a PS3, Gears might still look a bit better, but the game looks nearly as good AND is in a jungle that i love the look of

Lair new pics and now those below just made toally change my mind on PS3, it might be terrible in multiplts, but its first party games are stunning and every bit as amazing as 360 ones, can't wait for the price drop

everything looks better than Kameo. Kameo is for noobs that are easily impressed by cheap effects and overdone repeatative textures .

Uncharted impresses me with how much the characters feel alive. They have the best animations since Half-Life 2.

Lair looks kinda impressive - but Uncharted does not in the least. Maybe it's just me, but it looks like it could be done on last gen hardware, textures are wonky, models are passable, terrain is uber low poly in sections. for me a game has to be consistent in its presentation for me to really appreciate it - and uncharted certainly is not. maybe it'll look better closer to launch but christ, we've been seeing images of this game for over a year now and if anything the newer shots look less impressive.

It does some things very well. The textures, particle effects, and bloom effects are all top notch. It's just a pretty game.

nope, they ARE impressive. they don't have miles high bumpy plastic rocks like you like them, but they are impressive if you know anything about games.

Both games are looking decent, but its nothing that cant be acheived any where else, discounting the wii of course. This is just how good games are looking this gen, and its a good thing. It a shame system wars doesnt stop to notice more often.the1stmoonfly

Either you're not accustomed to System Wars, or for the last two weeks, you've been completely oblivious.

About 4 in 5 threads on SW are about some game's graphics.  It's almost the only thing SW notices.

Thx i took them from the newest 720p trailer. 

One thing I don't understand about Uncharted. They say the main character is supposed to be a kind of everyman. They don't say he's "former Green Beret" or anything like that. But most of the gameplay appears to be him taking on an army of pirates singlehandedly. The scenes where's he brawling with more than one at a time completely kill any "realness". Maybe they show a lot of gunplay just so people who like shooting games will get excited but it seems to me the gameplay should focus more on stealth and puzzles than shooting and brawling. I think the graphics are good but not on the level some people seem to hype them.

 this is the FIRST TIME the game is being shown in playable form(pre alpha), lots of games have unstable framerates/slow-downs, or character getting stuck or completely choppy animations, lots of texture placeholders,but this game is stunning in current form

But this is thewhole point, before i thought both Lair and Drake had some terrible textures and were totally unpolished, new pics show not only polished games but games that can stand up to 360 ones in a big way AND in Drake case are interesting enough to buy

I would get a PS3 for FF13, but now as it seems might get one earlier than i tohught i would, hope those pics stay that way
