I don't like the ribbed lines. The wood is cool assuming it's real wood.
Oh and Atari games have aged terribly.

I really love the way it looks. I still don't think we are looking at a TES6/COD1000/Crew 2/etc machine when they talk about "current games" and "based on PC hardware". They're being vague for a reason. If this was an Atari1X they'd be yowling about it and hyping us for it. Yes, they said there are more details to come, but I'm not holding my breath for it to be announced as that type of machine.
But even if I'm right, if it has value for what it is I might buy one
@Storm_Marine: Some Atari games have aged badly, but that can be said of any console. There are still a LOT of great titles from the 2600 thru the 7800 years that still play great and are a blast to play. Hell I have a 7800 and a ton of 2600 and 7800 games and still play them to this day.
The wood one actually does look kinda cool as a retro box. But I doubt it will have any games, other than mostly retro Atari games. NOBODY is going to port modern games to a 4th console, so if they made this thing powerful and expensive it's going to be an epic fail. If it's an android box running decent tablet CPU/GPU, maybe it has some usefulness to someone but it's mostly pointless except as someone looking for retro Atari emulator type box (and it better have dozens of those games included).
I would love to see a Nintendo Switch in a form factor like this (i.e. not a tablet).
It's quite a cute little piece of hardware. I like the aesthetics of it.
I'm not sure it's something that I need. From what I understand, it will play classic Atari games as well as new and independent games. I already have numerous machines to play indie games on. It's a wait and see for me. I definitely am curious about it.
So it's going to play Atari classics and modern indies and free-to-play titles then? Why can't I just do that on a Xbox One or PlayStation 4 or PC?
@lamprey263: That's what I'm not understanding yet. We already have devices that achieve this. They must have something else up their sleeve.
it looks like this will be partly funded by crowdfunding which is a bit of a swizz.
