First person shooter obsession finally dying out?

Hopefully other genres will get the spotlight. I've been having to game alot on my PSP because of that. :(

Its just the Uncharted is arguably the PS3s best or popular exclusive.

Killzone is not that huge of an fps exclusive

Resistance is a quiet achiever.

This does not reflect the whole games industry.

i like fps.. i dont think they should ever die.... the problem isnt that there are too many fps..the problem is that a lot of them are clones.campzor

I believe that the only franchises from PS3 that'll most likely make a return to PS4 would be Gran Turismo, MLB, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, & probably Little Big Planet, Infamous, God of War, & Twisted Metal.

Their other franchises such as SOCOM, MAG, Resistance, Killzone, & Motorstorm are just about dead at this point, IMO.

That new EYE game on Steam looks really cool. And I think the FP perspective is the best so we may see less shooters, but not less FP's

Sony's asking what franchise they want to see continued on the PS4. Uncharted (action platformer) is beating the competition mercilessly, while Infamous (superhero sandbox) is in second. Killzone and Resistance are left stomped and beaten.

FPS is easily the most generic genre in gaming. It also doesn't belong on consoles, as controllers are far inferior to the kb/m. One or two quality FPS's per gen is all thats needed...

Killzone is meant to be Sony's flagship FPS exclusive it should score in the same magnitude it was hyped.

FPS opsession never dies out, just dies down.

There have been FPS explosions before.

They come and go.

Everything dies out.

COD will bring the FPS down, just like how Guitar Hero brought the rythm genre down.
