What do you prefer? Good controls or good graphics? For me, I'd say the Wii's controls. The precision is perfect, and dual analog sticks just feel so inaccurate. It's seriously hard to aim with the analog stick. With the Wii, you actually move your hand around, like you would with a real gun, to aim.

I am talking about first person shooters, only. What do you choose?

PLEASE NOTE: We aren't talking about which system has better shooters. This isn't Call of Duty 4 versus Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. This is just what you think would offer the best game play experience.

Dual Analog is such a lame way to play that I would gladly take last gen visuals for better control. We just need somemore quality shooters for wii other than MOH2 and MP3.

Personally, graphics are essential in FPS games, it's a must, an absolute must, I couldn't imagine playing an FPS with outdate graphics, it just doesn't seem right at all.

So in essence I would go with the X360 graphics.

Let me guess: You played Red Steel or Far Cry: Vengeance. You didn't play Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 or Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Outstanding controls for the 360? What?

Only problem is there hasn't been a good multiplayer shooter for the Wii. Pretty pathetic MP3 didn't have multi considering the DS version did. Plus it was exactly like the GC MPs with some cutscenes that looked right out of a 2001 PC game.

Hmm... I'd say the PC's amazing controls over anything else...

but...

If every Wii game looked as nice as Metroid Prime 3 and controlled as beautifully, I'd choose it...

And if the 360 put the usb ports to good use and supported mouse and keyboard then I'd say it...

The controls.. Even though I play Halo 3 with friends alot, I absolutely hate the 2 analog stick controls.. And I wouldn't say Halo 3 has outstanding graphics.. Its character models look awful imo..

"Metroid has always been a single player experience." Also, if they did focus on the multiplayer, the single player would've been bogged down.

Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 was disappointed to say the least, and I didn't like it much. Excellent controls can't make up for a boring single player campaign, mediocre online, terrible character models, and awful AI.

I'm not overly convinced on the Wii's ability to play FPS (yes I own and enjoyed MP3). The thing is both dual analog or KB+M never lose sight of the screen. I never need to worry about going too far when I'm attempting to do something quickly.

The only FPS game I've played on Wii with lockon is Prime 3. But in Prime 3, you can turn it off. Or you can have it centered on the enemy, but you can move the reticle off the enemy, if that makes sense.

Not unless you ahave it set that way.

MP3's lock on system is diffrent from MP2 and MP, in that it allows Free lock on... Or when you lock on to an enemy, you strafe around them but your aim isn't locked on to them... you can shoot where ever you want in your field of vision.

Well, I think MP3 was the best first-person game I played last year.

In principle, though, I don't necessarily prefer FP games on one console over the other. I try to evaluate individual games on their own merits.

Then it comes down to comfort I guess. I always assumed that the Wii would have improved precision over the X360/PS3 in terms of FPS games, but I guess it doesn't really matter then.

I've had trouble playing with analog sticks from the start. Mouse and Keyboard worked for me fine. And now the Wiimote's pretty much the next best thing to the keyboard and mouse combo. Graphics are a plus though. The graphics on Medal of Honour Heroes 2 on the Wii are pretty terrible and hurt my eyes after a while.

So, in the end, I would choose Wiimote controls because they add a lot of fun to FPS'. Still, I'd like to see some nice graphics.

I didn't have that problem in any FPS i've played for the Wii, (Red Steel, and Metroid Prime 3), when I was not pointing toward the screen it knew and kept going in the direction I was last going for about 2 seconds before stopping... Which gives you plenty of time to correct your over moments.

I don't really think Wii and "outstanding graphics" are necessarily exclusive either.

I preferred MP3's graphics to Halo 3's, though they were lower-res.

Well, think of it this way. If COD4 was on the wii and it had pretty good wii controls but xbox/ps2 graphics. Would you prefer it over the PS3/360 one? If there was a wii version it would probably also have less player MP otherwise it would have no better than ps2 graphics...

Me too, artistically. I meant technically. Sorry, I should've been clearer on that. But yeah, Prime 3 had amazing atmosphere. All the envirements looked great.

I shouldn't need to "correct" my movement when it's intended. I just don't like the concept of a bound box of movement that I have to keep track of, in comparison to control types that don't allow the user to "go out of bounds".

No, not even close.

The only wii shooter with any kind of lock on or aim assist is metroid, and even then it only lcoks the camera, not your aim...and even then it's not very useful as most enemies can break out of it. And Metroid only has it because its much more of an adventure game than a shooter.

What do you mean by "less player MP?" You mean less players online? Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 handled it pretty well, and I am sure that the Wii is capable of better graphics than that. MUCH better. It's yet to be fully realized.

MP3 has autolock; they're just staying true to the prime series which always had lock on, not aim assist though. You can auto lock if you want however, some times it's easier to aim freely, and much more responsive.

I would go with Wii if it had MORE games that actually suport the Wii mote effectively......and I mean really effectively as in becoming an actual standard or future replacement over the Dual Analog. So far, it's been nothing more than a gimmick to lure non-gaming casuals, take thier wallets, and make a profit....in a competition....Nintendo knows damn well they can't even win, had they gone the HD/Standard Controls route.

I'd take KB&M and Dual Analog and HD graphics any day over Wii controls.

The Wii does not have amazing control. If it did, every FPS would play like that, but it does not. Stop over stating the Wiimote. It sells excellent, but, it has yet to change anything on how we play FPS.

FPS are still Mousepad & Keyboard and Dual Analog controller.

I would rather take better controls. Wii just needs to get a good FPS for that.

As big of a Wii fanboy as I am, I have to say I'll take the 360 for shooters right now, the reason being that the dual analog is not THAT bad compared to the Wiimote, whereas the Wii's graphics really are THAT bad compared to the 360.
