Those new Xbox tools sure is ass.
@ghostofgolden: the runt doesn't win this many times 🤣 I think PS5 is easier to get the most of. More console sales make it the bigger priority as well. Guess Gamepass subs aren't the replacement for market value Lems thought it was.
Bu bu bu,it's not the Devs,it's ps5,it's easier to develop for,it's a Sony secret sauce 🤣
Yet Sony doesn't have a game anyway near the graphical quality as Forza horizon 5.and next gen gears 5 looks better than Ragnarok and FHW.
The cow tears when Forza Motorsport, gears 6,hellblade 2 and fable drop, then reality that it was 3rd party Devs all along and PlayStation 5 first party look last gen compared....glorious
Eh i'm probably going to get shouted down for this but....this is just a demo. The game isn't out until the 24th and there will be a day one patch as is standard. The demo is probably an old build.
Maybe wait for the full game before throwing any platforms under a bus.
The recent spate of poor Xbox Series X performance is odd though. Looking at the specs, it makes no sense.
I saw people on twitter losing their shit over this and I agree with them that this doesn’t make any sense. There are literally 0 reasons the PS5 should be outperforming the Series X in any performance metrics.
There are like PS5 has a better GPU in some areas and better RAM setup, not to mentioned way less bottlenecks than XSX
@above_average: Um… Both consoles use extremely similar AMD components. But Xbox has more CUs and higher clocks… Meaning they should have the performance advantage across the board. “The tools” was nonsense, because this is AMD we’re talking about after all. None of their features deliver as promised. “Full RDNA2” was all hype. But the console have too many common components to claim there’s any sort of “secret sauce” in the PS5. The PS5 is technically inferior. Sorry…
When system wars experts knows something.
At the end of the day. Just because XSX is slightly more powerful than PS5 doesn't mean shit unless you have those exclusive games on it and more importantly talented developers who actually work on the hardware such as PS5 will get the most power out of it. If it's that hard to work with XSX over PS5, then MS really screwed up this gen.

There is plenty of speculation surrounding the next generation of consoles and many are excited to see what the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will bring. Speculation continues to be more prevalent than facts about the consoles, but more and more details are coming to light. While there is still plenty to be confirmed about the consoles, it seems that a rendering engineer at Crytek has made his decision on the console war. Yet it should be noted that the engineer is approaching the consoles in a different way to most gamers and consumers. Nevertheless, it is a very interesting opinion.
The PlayStation franchise has been the most successful home-game console of all time and naturally with this achievement comes a lot of fans. Yet few would have expected an engineer at Crytek to have been swayed as significantly as Ali Salehi has been, after coding for the consoles. Crytek is a respected developer that has produced games like Crysis and more recently Hunt: Showdown. Yet it seems that the company is having an easier time of achieving better performance with the PlayStation 5 than other consoles.
The rendering engineer wrote in Persian to a Twitter follower who asked about how the two consoles compared. Ali Salehi answered that the PlayStation 5 "is the easiest console they have ever coded on to reach its peak performance" and added that the PS5 "is extremely simple and has so many abilities that make the devs so free." The interaction concluded with Salehi claiming, "As a programmer I say PS5 is much better and I don't think you can find a programmer that could name one advantage that XSX has over PS5." These are strong words and many fans of the PlayStation 5 will be glad that the console is a hit with developers.
The Xbox Series X has promised some groundbreaking technology and it is surprising that the PlayStation 5 has made such an impression on a developer. While players won't feel the impact of an easier development process for the PS5 it may have some effect on game quality and even what studios team up with consoles for exclusives. While Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has claimed he is not worried about the PS5, the Xbox team will want to get ahead of this kind of negative press.
There are still mysteries surrounding the next generation of consoles but what has proved to be the key to their success in the past has been marketing and exclusive games. In light of the statement by Salehi, the PS5 seems to be besting the Xbox Series X. It will be interesting to see how Xbox responds to these claims, or whether they will focus on the games that will sway players on the upcoming console.

But people wanted to bet on the Murican company without a history in advancements with hardware and technology like Sony. Play stupid games...
Aww I remember that and the guy got in deepshit and had to retract his statement. All the Xbox fanboys said he was a idiot and it obviously it wasn't valid because he retracted it. Here we are three years in and the PS5 is winning most the head to heads.

This aged well really good

Saw this video earlier this week and the same question was asked regarding performance disparities with Xbox Series X games in general. I'd suggest seeing what the part grabbed from what Digital Foundary said this week too in the later half of the video:
In short, this really falls onto the developers, and I would agree on that.
Because games on PS5 use Sony's own APIs, the games made for the console are given a lot more attention in their build. Whereas with the Xbox, because it is a DirectX based system, their suggestion seems to point to developers lazily shortcutting Xbox development by porting over PC code, without using any of the console's hardware and software optimization tools that are at their disposal for optimizing performance.
I could probably accept an inherent flaw in hardware/software design, but a gross lack of attention, not just from one dev, but from many, seemingly just becoming standard operaring procedure, it's certainly infuriating.
Lol colteastwood 🤣. It also isn't a Sony API it's Vulkan . That's MS fault for releasing a console with an API that doesn't utilize the hardware. Regardless the PS5 isn't the problem for the XSX it's the XSS.
Xbox peeps citing a toxic Xbox.... whatever he is, as a some sort tree of knowledge, you know they are messed up
@lamprey263: so its like I said, the answer comes down to lead developer platform advantages. These developers are spending far more time on the ps5 version, and using features that benefit ps5 more than the xbox.
Of course, this isnt as much of an issue in first party games, developers are expected to use all the tech of the xbox. Once we get CoD, alot of things will change on that end too.
But I can understand where the 3rd parties are coming from. They are just building for the platform that is projected to bring in the most sales and revenue. RE4 will probably sell 10 million copies, and 6 million copies will probably sell on ps4/ps5, with the rest being split among xbox and pc.
Meanwhile, my PC was running it maxed-out at 4K 120fps...
I didn't bother with the Demo but it seems to me that RE4 Remake isn't that demanding and easy to run in 4K from the looks of it.
So the unoptimized argument is bullshit here then yes?
Since both PC and Xbox Series consoles use Direct X 12 Ultimate, people shouldn't be claiming lazy devs or other nonsense am I right? PS5 is simply out performing Xbox Series X in a straight head to head comparison.
And here's 3 another things.
#1. Capcom is one of, if not the MOST experienced developer working on Xbox Series and PS5 consoles at this point in time.
#2. Earlier on, weren't xbox fans using CAPCOM games as a bragging point to boast about Xbox Series X advantage over PS5 in earlier titles? Resident Evil Village anyone?
#3. Capcom is now a among the SENIOR experience developers in the industry when it comes to programming for PS5/Xbox Series X/S. There aren't many more 3rd party developers who are going to be able to pull more out of these consoles than then them.
All the excuses of bias or laziness aren't panning out here for team xbox boys especially since they've tried to use Capcom as a bragging point for earlier titles that had a slight edge for Xbox Series.
Wait for a proper analysis by DF or VGTech. Analista De Bits is known for being inaccurate.
I can agree with this. Which is specifically why I said "first" lol.
He tends to leave out a lot of information in his analysis, but this is still and interesting first look. Perhaps a day 1 patch with tighter these metrics up between the systems but the pattern of PS5 performance advantage over Xbox Series X from various 3rd party devs is becoming more and more difficult to dismiss as lazy or coincidence.

So, the PS5 running better than the Series X in this Remake which is on the same game engine as RE 1, 2, 3 Remakes,RE 7 and RE Village where the Series X performed equal or better, is proof that the PS5 has superior hardware?🤭

Don't ask a question and make up your own conclusion before someone responds cretin. You're barely smart enough to compose rational arguments on your own much less trying to think for others.
what "I" would say is that Capcom is one of the most experienced developers in the industry at this point dealing with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. And that they (Capcom) would have a far better understanding of how to achieve the best utilization of each hardware set compared to other 3rd parties.

Meanwhile, my PC was running it maxed-out at 4K 120fps...
It's that easy to run? Did you also toggle Hair Strands and RT? Hair Strands seriously hammers the GPU.
Yeah, maxed-out everything, including hair and ray tracing. My 3080 Ti was running 4K 120fps without slowdowns. However, it crashed during the chainsaw battle. After reducing the texture size slightly so the settings don't exceed 11 GB VRAM usage (as my card has 12 GB VRAM), that resolved the crash issue. Assuming your 4090 has 24 GB VRAM, then that shouldn't be an issue at all for you.
I am not a fan of openly criticising other's work but the listing of these resolutions for consoles here seems off... For one, these resolutions on console are obviously checkerboarded (not TAAU or something), as always with RE engine games on console. Not mentioning that is a bit of question mark for me.
by DF Alex, that's most likely why the console IQ looks so bad compared to pc even when the res numbers are "high"

Didn't crash maxed on 3090

Its worse than just bad. Its a deal breaker. There is zero chance that i am "burning" this game on such fugly visuals. Returnal and this are the blurriest games that i played or seen on a ps5.

yup it does
@above_average: Isn't there an active thread on the 1st page of SW where the exact opposite conclusions are drawn for a different game (Wo Long)?
Oh, sorry - "that's the devs", "that's a fluke", or "MS paid for that", right?
You're such a #$%&+ clown.
You milk makers cry more than Jim Ryan at a CMA hearing.

It's ok, go ahead...tell me how you really feel.
I actually decided to play the demo on PC and I'm very impressed with how well RE4 Remake is optimized, Capcom really pushed the specs as well as the previous Remakes but RT is so lacking, Village does it better. (A RE game I personally like while others hate Village for no good reason)
We shall see when Xbox has it 's Next gen only games out this year. Forza Motorsport destroys GT 7. What will the Sony fan nies say then. 😆
Yes, xbox series X next gen only games. The first one of those is Redfall right?
That's this game correct?
When Xbox fans have this next gen only xbox series title Sony Fannies will probably jump ship to the Xbox camp instead of gearing up to play the PS5 next gen only RPG Final Fantasy 16 only a month later.
Maybe you forgot PS5 has next gen only games coming out too?
Also, I don't know when Forza became the most important flagship for xbox fans, but congratulations on getting another Forza racing game?

Were you using FSR?
Even if the PS5 visuals are clearly inferior to the Series X I think the choice made was the right one. Frame rate should be a priority.
WOW! So Redfall is Sims 5? This is beyond pathetic. This is what happens when you create a game for GP.
@hardwenzen: I wouldn't call it a full sequel, more like an expansion pack
Simply put, this is incredibly pathetic.

Nah, I didn't use FSR. Would that have helped?
