I'm not sure if there's a thread on this, I couldn't find it in the search. Looks solid.
EDIT:
Website on the original post has taken the screenshots down. I presently found them on CVG.

Interesting. So it looks like Capelli is now the main character. Fine by me. I like the concept art but then again, I've always been a sucker for concept art. Hope they bring back R2's Co-op. Enjoyed that a lot.
It's nice...
Hope that it's better than R2, and more like RFOM... How RFOM Got a 8.5 and R2 gets a 9 is beyond me...
siddhu33
8 player co op and 60 player matches had something to do with that. Back when R1 got rated no PS3 game could score over 9 no matter what. Regarding R3 i can't wait. You know i can't wait, i got over 10,000 kills in R2 multiplayer lol.

Significantly better online and coop made up for the lesser campaign.
Really?
Doesn't look like it to me...
More like they tried to make an amalgam of CoD and Halo, yet did not really succeed in that aspect...

Same here. Co-op was the highlight of the game, imo.

I agree with you entirely.
I 3rd this. R:FOM is one of the most underrated fps games of all time.
The actual game shots look fantastic. I expect amazing graphics from Insomniac since they are making this 30 frames per second.
dam u! :P was just about to post this! it SAYS capelli but it doesnt look like him , if anything it looks like the guy from resistance retribution, THEY ARE MESSING WITH MY HEAD!!campzor
:P
I expect a media blowout soon. Anybody think Game Informer's next cover story will be R3?

the game engine its lots better in resistance 2 , ive played the games in opposite order 2->1 and RFOM felt really worse after playing 2 firstlooking forward to this
mainly cause it looks like Half life 2, I got R2 but never played R:FOM
so can someone tell me what made the SP in RFOM better than R2?
was it the fact in R2 they were trying to make more of a halo game?
was the first one more bleak and war-like?
i liked r2 much more, but i played 2 before RFOM , maybe the people saying RFOM is better are saying it for the same reason dunnolooking forward to this

Amm...RE2 was also 30 fps.
My mistake. I remember reading a quote from Insomniac saying they will focus their new games at 30 FPS. I was assuming it meant their past games were 60. Either way, they have done a lot in terms of improving the graphics. These shots look amazing. No "Graphics King" quality, but damn I'm impressed.Resistance FOM was pretty dark, but not on Gears level. Judging from these screens R3 looks grittier than past titles. I like it. It has a realistic look to it.if it has dark feeling like gears of war 1 then this might be my first Resistance

Normally I would agree, but hen I remember the Resistance 2 bullshots. Resistance 2 was also 30fps.

Jeans King? :P
Haha maybe so. The textures look quite realistic. Reminds me of an upgraded Source engine. I hope for a grittier, more oppressive vibe as well.If they focus more on story I'll be happy. Resistance 2's campaign was meh.

No no. Reistsnce 2 didn't really have any bullshots. Parts of the campaign looked like the shots shown in the initial Game Informer reveal. Especially Chicago. The major problem with R2's graphics is that the consistency in quality is very uneven. Some levels looked great, while others, namely Louisiana, look like garbage lol.Reminds me of Half-Life 2.tagyhagResistance is a series that borrows a lot from others, specially COD, Half Life and Halo to some extent.

lol I think Alan Wake is clothing king, well in terms of physics anyway
Alan wake is only jacket king :P
ok its jacket physics king then! I would also give it real-time lighting king also
Gotta im very impressed with these screenshots, love the art-style

GI made the game look really stunning graphically. And that's because the levels that they showed in the article were incredible looking... just not the whole game. As for R3, I think it looks great. I have never joined the hate train with the Resistance series and I think they are still really solid and fun. The co-op in R2 is unlike anything yet in a shooter. Seeing (literately) 100 enemies storming your team of eight friends and ten AI is just stunning to engage in.Becausely RFOM was a bad game and R2 wasn't. I can never figure this out how people actually like RFOM its online was inferior, its weapons, its graphics, its sound, its characters, its story, Its writing. all inferior completely. R2 was the better game in graphics, sound. The story was better thought out, the main character actually you know...talked, the other characters actually had wit to them. Its gameplay was far superior specially its 8 player coop. It's nice...

The first one felt like a survival horror game with a war theme in the 50's, kind of unique but the second was more like a futuristic generic FPS withanother bald guyeven though the setting was still in the 50's.

Yeah, i think the R2 and halo part holds some water. They tried to make this Capelli hates hale but at the end he's so sad to have to shoot like he previously announced. Sadly the relationship was half-baked and i felt like i was being exposed a part that needed more story behind it somehow.
The first one had a brilliant execution of the storytelling, with a 3rd person narrating the story. It didn't pretend to be epic but it clearly was a nice story. On R2 they tried to make an epic story of the likes of halo (and when I mean epic i mean cheap herodrama) and didn't nail it. That's what made R2 to many people eyes the worse one.
R1 featured:
A good story (new!)
A nice coop mode on SP campaign splitscreen
Competitive balanced multiplayer.
R2 featured:
A chore coop (seeing star enemies is like finding some sort of farming minigame)
A broken competitive multiplayer
A not good story with lack of coop.
So that's what kinda explains why people didn't like R2.
i liked r2 much more, but i played 2 before RFOM , maybe the people saying RFOM is better are saying it for the same reason dunno[QUOTE="AmnesiaHaze"]

Well it does look they are bringing back the survival horror vibe of the original.:)
That was my favorite part of the 1st was its game atmosphere of alternate ww2, with dashes of S. horror.

R2 bullshots ended up looking the same as in game so I already know its going to look like that (expect maybe the lighting probably wont be like that in game, IDK)

Artwork with polygons? Some were clear art work, others not so clear - could be ingame. We just have to wait and see.[QUOTE="erglesmergle"]
