First they bash Lair and now this - EGM hates PS3.

They'll honestly drop the game's rating if it's a penny over $30 downloadable over the PSN. I for one am buying this on blu-ray to get a second headset for co-op online play.

I could see the justification if there was like a $15-$30 over-pricing issue. But again, this is EGM specificially pointing out a PS3 game and if you read the article, their readers are starting to hate on them for it.

FOr fully customizable characters and warhawks (air assualt vehicles), both online and offline multiplayer and the ability to take two (may be more) people on the same PS3 online at a time and it's only worth $20 max? I'm paying full price and all for that headset, but I have no issues doing so just for the game itself.

Shadowrun itself was really hit hard on gameplay from a lot of reviews I read. Hence the bad scores.

Also, Shadowrun had great online and its gameplay was fun. It was just shallow and lacked a singleplayer mode.

Whats so wrong about that? To be frank I do think they are complaining about something so... well, so meaningless a little too much. But the reviewers job is not to rate to the game just to be used in accordence to the logic in this place, of using a score of a game as ownage over any "X" platform. They give their own personal opinion on the overall games value to the consumer and price does count as a games value.

If they consider its content to be overpriced, then they should show it in their reviews.

Though heres something. Battlefield had bots. Not that great, but it still had them. I don't know about warhawk, but I believe it doesn't right? Meaning a true online only game should be 30$ by itself. If its more, egm has every right to knock the score down. Not everybody has broadband internet, or good internet at that. A single player only game isn't bad because it can be played by all. Just hopefully warhawk doesn't go the route of shadowrun, and charge 60$ for a true online only game.

EGM is biased toward/against each company, according to SW.

I didn't read the lair part (someone please clue me in). But what they wrote in the article you've linked about warhawk seems completely unnecessary and unjust.

I think Sony has all the right to take its time deciding the price of its games. And no magazine publisher should question that, let alone be upset about it.

1up gave Shadowrun an 8.0 when it costed $60, but complains about Warhawk costing more than $30. I don't see why 1up doesn't just base the review off the Blu-Ray version. That is the one that probably 80% of consumers will buy anyway.

Ehh? It's not that pricing shouldn't be taken into consideration in reviews(it should) but 1up says if it costs anything above $30 they will drop a whole point off its price. That seems a bit to extreme. I could see 1/2 a point for each $10 more costs than $30(they are supposed to be reviewing a game, not the pricing). So say they were gona give it a 9.0, now since it is announced as $40 they give it an 8.5. That seems fair. Of course TBH, games like NGS(10-15 hr game) cost $60, but the average person will probably play Warhawk more than NGS cause of the multiplayer.

My thoughts as well. You also have to pay the subscription fee to play Shadowrun which also can be tacked onto the games overall price. Shadowrun essentially is an incomplete game with mostly multiplayer and for its price it really is a complete rip off because there is no single player. A game that has only online and is less money really should be considered a bargain, especially since you do not have to pay a dime in online fees.

And why would anyone with a right mind base a review off the online price of the game? That just seems like the most retarded logic that one could come up with.DSgamer64
