Flopped games this year you actually enjoyed?

both scored under 8 and were very enjoyable imo

Alan Wake flopped by the System Wars rules, but really, it is a compelling story experience that shouldn't be missed.

Actually, we have our own criteria for flop, here in System Wars. Any game who's score (going strictly by Gamespot) that didn't meet the hype, is a flop. This doesn't go by numeric differences either, just by rank. So a game scoring 8.0 instead of 8.5 is not a flop, but getting AA instead of AAA is. This also is to say, that a flop doesn't necessarily mean a bad game or a commercial failure. It's only the rules of the metagame of System Wars, score against the hype. That's how its done here and doesn't reflect the meaning of the word in the outside world.

If you mean FLOPS this year by the worldly standard, I can't answer...but if you mean System War's Flops (by Hype vs. Score), I enjoyed Splinter Cell : Conviction as I played it with a few friends,and it's still really fun Co Op.

dont care about the hype surrounding games, for games to flop they must get average scores of not more than 7/10, so anything above 7.5 should be considered decent/good...

So far this year have not played any games which got low scores...

None. Haven't played any flops as far as I know.

The flop I will most enjoy this year (pending future scores, of course) is probably either Alan Wake or Alpha Protocol. I might be able to narrow it down soon because I'm getting Alpha Protocol tomorrow.

I am so embarrased when I see people call these games a flop. They sound like complete morons. I knew there was a serious problem on these forums when I posted God of War 3 as a flop I enjoyed. No one disputed it and the game scored a 9.0!

It's because they can't take their favorite games flopping. I honestly hated the fact that R&C Tools was a flop but hey at least I go with it now. Anywho at this point, take it or leave it I guess.

Lol, I perfectly understand it. Doesn't change the fact that it looks stupid as hell to see responses like Alan Wake, Conviction, and Heavy Rain in a section about games that flopped.

Alpha Protocol is amazing and in this years top 3 games imo (Up there with Red Dead and Mass Effect2).

9/10 for me, its got the best decisions/choices that effect the story ive ever seen, awesome story, good gameplay and tons of rpg elements.

Heavy Rain and Alan Wake are awesome aswell and deserve more praise.

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, still wondering why it scored a 7.5 here. Anyway,I would note Alan Wake but that game was as boring as GTA4.

MAG. I don't mind the mediocre reviews it got. I can understand that most reviewers got their asses handed to them and blamed bad graphics :P
