Flower a joke too gaming industry ?

one of the most useless games there is. its probably still enjoyable to the hippies among us. had it been about bees pollinating and other actual stuff about flowers then it would be more interesting. but in this game you just do random stuff and once a while a circle of stones break...Great_Ragnarok

Random stuff? I thought I was collecting petals and pollen. Oh boy turns out I didn't need to do anything at all.

If the artists declare their work as art then it is art, if a game developer makes something and declares it a game then it is a game, not that complex to understand. But if a random guy takes a dump on the street and declares it art maybe to him it would be but everyone else would just say he's ruining the environment.

And for the practicality question used by people to hate the game, if you want to be practical you shouldn't be playing video games and go make some money for your family instead.

I played Flower.

It looks nice, but I wasn't impressed. I don't see why so many people praise it so highly--like its some sort of Zen experience to play. I'm not that spiritually starved that Flower is gonna stir the "dormant waters of the depths of my soul"...

Its just a boring visually impressive game.

Flower is one of the few things the gaming industry has done right since the late-90's/early-00's. :|PBSnipes

I totally agree, but look at the reaction by gamers these days. I don't know, i think that if everyone started complaining about lack of quality in games today (there was even a thread about this earlier today) it would be all our own fault, the gamers. Flower for example is a great game, totally different from what we're used to playing, it's also cheap and was made by indie devs (ThatGameCompany). Yet people bash it without any reason at all. They didn't even try the game. It's different, so, it's bad. I think that's the nonsense in their heads...

Obviously if the game was an xbox live exclusive the discussion here would be the opposite. But then when you think about it, microsoft doesn't even allow innovation to exist.PSdual_wielder

Flower is pretty amazing. One of the few games that has made me genuinely happy while playing it.

It doesn't have much in the way of gameplay, but I don't think that's too much of a problem. It isn't as much about the gameplay as it is about the whole experience.

And frankly, if you can't be bothered to punctuate or capitalize ... your writing = fail.

I just purchased Flower last night. I must say that I enjoyed the experence so far, its a game that when I first started I was saying to myself, "What the hell is this?", and after a few minutes of playing I was saying, "Now I know what the hype was about". It's very relaxing, fun, and it's one of the first games that uses the six axis motion control very well.

I recommend to all those who haven't played it yet to try it.

moreover, its simply wrong.you can't judge whether or not you like this game based on another person's opinion, because it is a completely new game of a completely genre. its not just another shooter or racer where you basicly are doing the same gameply each time.
