Folklore 7.2 from GT

first of all ... i actually read the forums for quite some time before making an account.

and second of all ... if soemone likes rpg's why the hell would he not mention folklore? ... even if he knows it will probabaly score 7.0 and i dont think anyone has ever said that folklore is better than x360 games.

I agree with u ... i didnt particulary like the game either ... but there were more then enough folks over the ps3 board liking the game. People have different tastes.

No the hell it wasn't. I don't think the masses would have hyped it AA. That would mean hyping it to outperform Heavenly Sword. It won't do that and the demo gave no indications of such quality (gameplay...graphics were superb).

You beleive the Hype for this game started after the HS review? it was announced just a tad before that...Hype doesnt start when a hype thread is made...its when the game is announced

No, I simply believe there was no hype about this game. A few people talked about it after the demo...some people may have been excited. There was no official hype or even talk about A-AAA scoring possibilities. Only conversation about people liking or disliking the demo.

There's a reason no Cows have been talking about the game until suddenly: it was not a hit.

Well i dont have a PS3...not gettin one until next yr or until it costs 350-400...so i have no intrest in looking up PS3 games...especially since i know what im buying a PS3 for (MGS, FF, etc...) so how would i know about Folklore and have seen pics/videos of it if no1 hyped it here? I Know Folklore wasnt as big as others (Warhawk, HS, etc...) but ive seen videos pics and heard about this game HERE....so it has to have hype

yes ... but is it a concensus across the board? one out of every 5 cows here hypes it AA ... doesnt mean the game is being hyped A.

It might be too late, but I don't understand why you are so worried about this hype thread. After all, a thread was created yesterday claiming that Folklore might well be the PS3's first killer app. Surely a killer app can stand its ground in a harmless little hype thread, no?

Hype thread or not, this game has already been hyped to incredible heights by your fellow cows. Heck, not even HS or Lair were hyped to "killer app" status.

We know what is going on here. You are one of the few Cows that are smart enough to see the ownage coming down the line. I just hate the fact that cows stand up for Folklore, yet they still bash Halo 3 and other great titles. Folklore is almost on par with Blue Dragon in terms of reviews. Both games scored low and high, depending on the reviewer. Yet cows bashed me when I said I enjoyed Blue Dragon. I guess it's impossible to enjoy an average game on 360, but fine to do it on PS3.

Didn't Jade Empire score pretty well abroad? I thought it was a high 80-something % game at gamerankings? This game--by contrast--is barely holding on to A right now. I can't see this being the general equivalent of a Jade Empire. Unless your point was purely that it will be a game that scored highly at IGN but not as high elsewhere. Still not a perfect parallel.

Maybe you failed to draw the connections. It may be the fanboyism. Let me help you:

Lemmings didn't say IGN stinks...they said this particular game was overrated, and they cited the other 6 reviews--all of which were below 8.1--as their reasoning.

Had this been the ONLY review for the game available, it would be fair to call the lemmings hypocrites. but i the light of othre available reviews--all of which sing the same song of this games mediocrity, coupled with the total lack of attention this game has gotten from PS3 owners who have played the demo, they fairly deduced that this game has probably been overrated by IGN.

Again: all the other reviews point to this game being overrated by IGN. Based on that rationale, it's not unfair for lemmings to say IGN overdid it this time.

No, because 6 or 7 other sources gave the game A. Because it's Gamerankings score is varely A.
