I was just in my local best buy in Chicago, IL, and there was completely no 360's there what so ever. when i asked how long have they been out of stock and when will they have some in, response was "for while now and we should get some in stock in the next 7days" For all those who think that people are making 360 shortage up, here is the phone number for that best buy (847-827-7110) just call and ask. when i asked if other best buys in chicago area carried 360, they said that majority are out of stock as well.
It makes sence since month prior to it 360 sold 1.3 million consoles while ps3 only sold 700,000.
P.S most of the accessories for 360 were sold out as well. I was shopping for LIve gold card and there was only 1 left in stock.

Bestbuy in Lake Zurik, IL. Said the same thing about the Elite and Pro, but they did however have like 6 in stock without hard-drives! Which was good because my little brothers 360 was broken and no it wasn't system related, it was little brother related! Thank God for the Bestbuy PRP! I honestly want the PS3 to do better! I want the competition to be thick! I want it so close that the fact I own both will actually make me feel better, but alas my PS3 is a Blu-ray player that happens to me a gaming console as well and my 360 is the unmatched king of consoles..... The 360 shortages aren't caused by a high demand, they were caused by MS screwing up the world wide allocation of consoles and being too slow to fix it. MS has admitted this and already said the problem will be fixed this month as their allocations get sorted out.
Basically, MS didn't have enough consoles stockpiled in the NA shipping facilites and too many stocked up in other regions. They are moving these consoles around as we speak.

But apparently they have no brains in stock across the whole of the uk, so I may have to wait longer.

^ whats so funny about it? do you know the definition of shorage? Nobody ever said that 360 is completely sold out. IT's just its out of stock in a lot of stores due to miicrosoft selling 1.3 million units just month prior to it. If you really dont believe that some stores are out and have been out for few weeks now why dont you call niles best buy in chicago 847-827-7110. they will tell u same thing they told me, that this best buy and a lot of other once are out out of stock.
remember what we discuss last year, Poeple looking for wii and 360 will buy the next best thing. The ps3. Ps3 supply>wii and 360. wii is selling like crazy and nintendo is not keeping up with demand. Microsoft cut their supplies,maybe to improve the system.
