Once again net income does not equal direct profit. Revenue is the total money earned from sales of products and services. The bottom line is that Sony in total, spent that much more on development. Net income has little to no effect on actual product production, why do you think Sony has the largest first party studio. Net income is not what benefits consumers. espoac
I can see MGS 4 being announced as multiplat when Konami's fiscal year ends and they realize that Sony just doesn't have the consoles out there in people's hands to justify it being exclusive. Also, you can probably expect Nintendo Wii and DS game production to go through the roof, now that the DS rules the world and the Wii isn't a fluke! Does that mean more Cartoon Network games? Sure does!Paul_PhoenicksYa know if the PS3 vs. Wii situation turned out exactly like DS vs. PSP, I'd be very happy(as a PS3 owner) because look at all the good games(say what you will about them being dumbed down ports) that the PSP has.

Lmao... nice ownage.
If only you people wanted DMC to actually be excited about playing it....... instead its all for the ownage.StealthStingyou must be talking about 360 owners. dmc3 was a huge success in sales for ps2. however, japanese style games typically sell bad on xbox consoles.
[QUOTE="dustin-diamond"]1.) The GBA is about 700% cheaper 2.) The PS3 has not launched in Europe yet. That said, it's sales aren't bad at all. These are bigtime exclusive games and they are going to be housed on the worst selling console... heck the PS3 cant even outsell the GBA.
I feel bad for Capcom and Konami as these great titles dont have much potential for blockbuster sales on a console with such a limited user-base.... I suppose they had no idea how poor PS3 sales would be when these titles were announced and they simply backed the wrong horse.

360 can't outsell a ps2 which has over 100million to date around the world..... don't come with ps3 can't outsell this and that, its not even completely launched yet. These are bigtime exclusive games and they are going to be housed on the worst selling console... heck the PS3 cant even outsell the GBA.

The one who's in big trouble is SquareEnix. They're going to lose millions on investment on FFXIII and vsXIII, the PS3 will not sell enough units to cover for their loses, the DS may give them some financial backing but they can't go on without profit from the ps3 side which is their biggest investment. themyth01That was funny

Nah I'm not talking about a fanbase as a hole. I'm adressing the people that want this game so that at the end of the day they can come in here and say: PS3 just lost a very good exclusive, what now cows?

360 outselling both gba and ps3, much more embarrassing being a cow. For cows sake i hope that the ps2 continues to sell well, because they have nothing else to look forward to.[QUOTE="dustin-diamond"]1.) The GBA is about 700% cheaper 2.) Sony will already have over 3M consoles sold by the end of next month. By the time those games come out they will have well over 5M consoles sold PLUS the holidays will be around the corner. They will both sell over 2M as they are two of the most anticipated games for anyone that does own a PS3.... So not only do they not have a 'need' to go multiplat, the odds of them doing so are pretty slim.Sgt_Hale
I wouldn't be so sure they'll both sell 2+ million if the PS3 doesn't have 10-15 million consoles sold by then. Let's keep in mind that if for some reason Sony actually has sold 3 million units by the end of next month (I can't really tell who's being honest with numbers anymore), and 5 mil by the time the games come out, this means almost half of all PS3 owners have to buy both games. I'm not saying it isn't possible (Gears has sold 4 million, which puts it at about that rate), but I don't think Devil May Cry has the name recognition among casual gamers to pull that off. Metal Gear might be able to, but you have to remember that a huge selling point for Gears (and Halo before it, if we're using system sellers as an example) was the online play. The fact of the matter is, if MGS IV doesn't have multiplayer, I don't see it selling to 50% of all PS3 owners (although God knows I'm sure it'll sell really well).
And even if it does, 2 million copies still might not be what Konami needs to offset the massive costs of making said game...
Edit: For the record, I'd be more than happy to play DMC and MGS IV on the 360, but since I've never played a DMC game before, and haven't played MGS since the PS1 version, I can't say I'm going to live or die by Konami and Capcom's porting decisions...
