For those claiming ownage at the Ps3 sales equalling the 360's:

The fact that the ps3 is selling the way as it is, doesnt matter because even though its matching sales with 360 (which is pretty sad) the ps3 stilldoesnt have any good games, except maybe Resistance but thats it, the majority of gamers are just waiting for the beter games to come out which is this year and next year, THIS IS WHY I CLAIM POWNAGE, MATCHING SALES WITHOUT A BLOCKBUSTER HITStrongman98

    There are many reasons why a system sells. Games are one small part. Besides Gears, the 360 has not had a blockbuster hit yet either. The Wii only really has Zelda at this point. Gears did not create a spike in console sales, and the Wii sells great without a majority buying Zelda. So what does that say about games selling systems?

    Maybe other things, such as features (XBL, PSN, Blu-Ray, Motion controls, etc), media exposure, and brand name also factor in to sales, as those three things do sell systems, almost as much as games.

    No one game out right now for any of the three systems are huge, cross-gamer type killer-apps.

    Either of the systems has the potential to out-do the other, but MS and Sony both keep fighting each other in terms of "anything you can do I can do better", while Nintendo is laughing at them all the way to the bank.

What games does the PS3 have for Xmas 07?

Lair, Heavenely Sword, Uncharted, Home, Little Big Planet. But being as the majority of 360 owners are casual 12 year old Halo players, all who depend on their christmas gifts for their gaming needs, 360 will no doubt win this Xmas.

But to say PS3 has nothing good going for it is incredibly narrow minded.

No casual currently knows what BioShock or MassEffect are. 

I don't believe that Christmas of 07 is going be the center point to determine which system will eventually pull through. For myself I think that with Halo 3 alone the Xbox 360 has it in the bag for 07. Little Big Planet is a interesting concept, and Heavenly Sword looks to be a solid game. I for one am not going to purchase a PS3 based on those titles alone(I'll give props to Heavenly Sword). If you're talking about casual gamers and their knowledge of what's coming out then Halo 3 would be the biggest thing for consoles period this year. Hell, the game even has commercial advertisement.

Now I don't have a Xbox 360. Here's why; Metal Gear Solid 4 and Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation. I do not have Playstation 3 or a Wii. You see, it would be a bad choice(in my opinion) to pick a console when the big software titles aren't competing. I honestly though that I would be making a next-gen. console purchase this holiday. But when I heard that Solid Snake, and Final Fantasy's new tales of the Crystals weren't appearing this year I decided that it would be a bad choice to pick a console up.

Thankfully I'll be able to import Crisis Core, Final Fantasy VII this Summer. I am definitely not going to wait until a possible 2008 US release to play as SOLDIER Zack Fair, then I wouldn't have anything to play(that's if DISSIDIA makes a release in the US this year). Not to mention Warhammer Online was delayed in 2008. Yeah..from what I see Christmas of 08 will be a big year hopefully. :D

I'm not sure that's the case. The difference in japan is something like 30 to 40 thousand and I don't know of any official European numbers (If they exist, please post them - I'd like to see the state of the market in Europe). Meanwhile, the 360 has been outselling the PS3 by 50 to 80 thousand in recent months. Looking at VGCharts, which is what most people around here like to use, you can see that over the last few months worldwide sales of the 360 have eclipsed those of the PS3.

If 360 owners are the "hardcore" gamers, how can they pass up MGS4 and FF13, I just find that impossible to do.

Actually it isn't even at the same rate at this point. For the last 2 months the sales have been the lowest for any next-gen system.

The 360 sales were bad until Gears. I don't expect PS3 sales to boost until Metal Gear Solid 4.

Still, Wii is the real winner in sales, it is saleing without any system salers. SSBB, I don't even want to imagine.

    Seriously, and no joke, buy the extended warranty. If you are in the US, its something like $60 for two more years, and its more than worth it with the risks involved. Also, if your system is vertical, there is more risk of red rings, since gravity can dislodge the heatsink on the CPU with the system standing up.

That isn't what the facts state at all. If we are speaking current time and not 3 months ago (when the ps3 was selling about what the 360 did) you would know the ps3 is the worst selling system so far. They can't even get over 100,000 units a month in 1 market. the 360 sold over 200,000 ever month for the entire 1st 6 months of the year in NA alone( even with supply problems and being sold out until may of 2006).

 So yes some people are blind to factual sales info. That we both agree on.

Cows are all over the place with 360 games.. some times they say "The 360 had no good games till Gears" but then sometimes its "The 360 had better games then the PS3 had at this point so of course it sold more". 

And think how many of those PS2 "fans" bought their console at 600 dollars.. none.
