nope, i'm not a fanboy at, but I just don't see why I would buy a 360. The exclusives it has doesn't interest me one bit, plus I would never pay for online since I rarely play online

I bought a 360 (mistake). It got a failed HDD, I had to pay $120 for only one made by MS for 360. A month later it went RRoD. Sent it in to MS in their supplied box. Got a different one back. It got RRoD 2.5 months later. Sent that one in the MS supplied box. They sent me a different one. I E-bayed the PoS and went only PS3s since. 5 PS3 all have worked fine for multiple years and never break. 360s break and break. MS sucks!

Don't worry you'll just pay to play no games.

Just a general question to SW, was playing some more Halo Reach today and was wondering how many people don't have a (is it "a" or "an" before X?) Xbox 360, a system with highly regarded exclusives, great multiplats, a pleasent interface, and of course, a source of fanboy arguments everywhere. So as the title says, for those who haven't, will you ever buy a Xbox 360?Blabadon

No not interested.I'm not paying to play my games online, ridiculous.I don't rate 360 exclusives, much prefer PS3 ones, multiplats are great on PS3,never had an issue with one and I've played and finished about 50 this gen.

Won't be interested in nextbox either,PS4 all the way.

Very unlikely that I'll ever get an Xbox. PS3/PS4 is a much more plausible purchase.

[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"]Paying for online gaming is a trend I will not support. It also doesn't help that my 360 RROD'd out of warranty when I had it. I had a few exclusives for it, but I didn't particularly care for any of them, anyway.

Don't... pay for online, then?

Or... don't buy the system? Yeah, that sounds better.

I think you fail to consider the massive amounts of difference between the PC and the console environments.

In the PC ecosystem, gaming companies offering online play have no development costs except of that required to make the game and the money required to run a dedicated server. It's relatively cheap compared to the costs required to build and support a console.

For the console, you have to consider everything that a PC gaming company would have to pay for AS WELL AS the billions in R&D for the hardware that goes into the system. Furthermore, gaming companies would need to cover the costs of the hardware as well as the cost to manufacture and assemble these hardwares. Most likely, Microsoft and SONY will take a loss with their machines when they first enter the market. This isn't something that PC gaming companies like VALVE would have to worry about.

The LIVE fees help mitigate the losses incurred by the high cost of developing the console. This is something SONY should wise up to.

You're an ignorant tool.

[QUOTE="charizard1605"] Don't... pay for online, then? charizard1605

But multiplayer is a very big part of many games. Especially when it comes to multiplatform games, why would anyone even bother with a system where you have to pay a regular fee to have access to large portions of third-party games? Portions that can be accessed for free, in the very same games, on literally every competing platform?

Don't buy multiplats with a huge online component on the Xbox then. But stuff like Skyrim, or Assassins Creed, or Bioshock, or Fallout, or The Witcher, is great on Xbox. Hell, the only multiplats I can think of which have online gaming as a huge component are Battlefield and Call of Duty; maybe fighters (but with the 360's atrocious Dpad, buying them for that system is stupid to begin with).

Every game you listed is better on PC. You do realize this, right? Why would I buy a sh!tty little box with horrible hardware to play games on when I can play them on a PC with mods, better graphics and framerate and my choice of controls?

I didn't own an Xbox last gen and have no interest in a 360. Maybe if Rare was the old Rare but that won't happen.

I've gone this long without one, so... no. Absolutely not. I've got plenty of friends with them, and I've tried every single relevant exclusive. Nothing special. As for the multiplats, yeah, they're better than on PS3 (usually), but my laptop plays them better than either.

the_bi99man

nothing special about any of the console exclusives this gen huh? mmmmmkay. pc exclusives on the other hand...

god, so much of the community here is so predictable.

Buying any last gen systems (360/ps3/wii/wiiu) in 2013 is a joke.silversix_

Well true. Because if you already own them ALL, why would you need to buy them again. ;)

Don't care if anyone buys one or not. Buy the console(s) you enjoy for the games you love to play. That simple.

Everyone has their own reasons for owning the systems they have. None of those reasons are wrong or right, because that's their own opinion.

I have had great times with the 360, but it died for the fourth, and seemingly last time a year ago. I thought Halo 4 would push me to pay for a repair, but I'm all done with the system. Funny you should mention Reach since its one of the reasons the separation has been less painful.

I just have bad luck with ms hardware. The free slim 360 we got from mt dew, started out on not being able to update then a bad power switch followed by the power supply going out right after the warranty ended.

At this point in time, extremely doubt it. MS would need to secure some insanely awesome exclusive game rights on 360 for me to think about it, and they have no reason to do so this late in the gen. I might give 720 a look though, but even that is looking to be a long shot at this point.

At this point there is no reason to if you have a PS3 unless you want to play Gears, Halo, and Alan Wake. Those alone were enough to make me buy a 360, but if those don't appeal to you then you can get all the same multiplatform content on the PS3, have free online, and have access to all the new and seemingly unending exclusive content. Just my opinion though.
