I have no problem with playing games aimed at younger audiences, so long as it's a good game.

Simple example being pokemon 

I despise it when people bash a game for being "kiddy". Are they afraid that playing a game with some colors other than black and grey and blood red going to make them look like a little kid? Do you play games at all? Welcome to the kiddy bandwagon.

I enjoy playing kids games. I just got the wii last sunday. I'm loving Super Paper Mario right now. Bottom line, Nintendo will always show the inner kid inside of me, and if people don't like me for liking kids games, well it's their loss.blizzvalve

What annoys me the most is that sheep run around saying that you're not really mature if you don't like playing kids games.  That's a load of crap.  If a game doesn't appeal to a group of people, that has nothing to do with their maturity.

I don't play Pokemon because of the style.  I don't give a crap what kind of depth is to be had to the game.

Surprisingly, my tastes haven't. It's just hard to find the types of games I like. I used to like playing games like Mario, Fzero, Crash, Spyro, Poke'mon and Banjo Kazooie but there aren't too many games like that out anymore so I had to adjust to playing games like GTA, Metal Gear, Gran  Turismo and Halo.

If you ask me, the games these days are filler, there aren't too many games that made me say "wow" at the story or gameplay as of late (graphics don't impress me much). The way I see it, games are games, you might as well play the ones you like.

I believe the Sheep argument was that you are not mature if you bash people that play any type of game you don't.

Nintendo doesn't make Kid games, they never had. All their games are rated "E", "T" or occasionally "M". I don't recall Nintendo ever making a kid game.

people seem to dismiss this fact but, i for one don't want to be mocked at for what reason what so ever, so i can understand why some people don't want to play in public, but, i really never got mocked for playing a "kiddy: game, or atleast, even if i do get mocked i stand up and have a SERIOUS argument, i love doing that ^_^nintendo-4life

See, you are a bigger man than I. I'm a firm believer in old fashioned violence to settle my dispute. I just don't take any thing that some kid has to say about gaming seriously. Scientifically speaking, their brains aren't even fully developed yet. I don't want to take any advice from some fanboy half-brain.

The only people who dis games for being "kiddie" are kids themselves who are insecure about they look among their peer group.

Fun games are fun games, no matter how you spin them.

I have to totally agree with you dude....Im 35 and have been playing games since 1980 at the ripe ol age of 9. I still to this day will play anything I want. I dont care if its Pokeemon or Barbie Horse Adventure..lol..I just dont care, and this is the way I have tried to raise my 2 boys. Dont worry what people think and you will have a much better , happier life....

Most kiddy game I have is Viva Pinata, and thats only because I play it with my 3 year old niece and she tells me where to place everything.   Otherwise, i'll stick to the games that have a story that a adult can grasp.

 Well most of our tastes haven't changed. I'll always like Nintendo games, no matter how kiddie they get.

Well, i'm 16, i'm still a kid. I like to be a kid. Why would i want to not be on while i still have the chance. Sure a bad *kiddy* game is still a bad game, but a great *kiddy* game is still a good game. And besides, most games that people call kiddy have nothign to do with being childish or stupid. MarioKart? its got colorful graphics, mushrooms, and mario. Sure its not burnout or uber realistic, but most those games suck on handhelds, and mariokart is amazing on handheld.

 I like being a kid and playing games that i like. I enjoy games like RE4 for thier story and graphics, and i enjoy games like MarioKart or Mario for thier just cheerful and fun experience.  

 Yes, i play Pokemon on my comp when i'm really bored. Its a fun light RPG. I'm not obsessed and have a bedroom filled with them. And if you think thats lame, then good for you. Go back to your GoW and Halo, they are great games too.

What is wrong with kids games. Since the release of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, I've been seeing a lot of kid game bashing threads. You've played games when you were kids, so you're saying that the games you've enjoyed are not interesting today? I know some of your interests have changed since then, but do have to bash them because they are not your age group?blizzvalve

I don't think it's about kid games as that gaming should have evolved over the years and some games look like they were made 15 years ago instead of today. I would think we would be more innovative , even with games tailored towards a younger audience but some of those games look old school. I am all up for retro and all but some things have to give.

I use to be like that, but I decided to screw that, if people can't like me for what I am or what I do, etc., then screw them. Do you need people to like you only for what you do or for what you are inside?

Yeah I kind of agree with this, a lot of games nowadays are just flashy graphics and not much else... while I don't mind too much, there indeed hasn't been a game that made me saw wow in a long time. Not since Halo 1, actually. I was so impressed with the story in that game, damn what a plot twist!

i dont bash them, i just done like them. yeah, when i was a kid, sure. but im 25 and my tastes have changed.

what irks me....is people that deny a game is kiddie.  if its kiddie its kiddie. its not a bash, its stating the truth. there is nothing wrong with a game being kiddie.
