From what people have been saying. Because it has less memory, less GPU, that would mean that you might be restricted to AI or open world demands. I get that the GPU really isn't a concern because you can port down graphics. And the CPU is solid. But less memory and less powerful GPU combined makes me think they can't do as much with it. And recently that Dying Light 2 guy stating that the Series S GPU is holding the console.
That makes no sense. Less memory affects textures and other assets not AI or open world demands (whatever that is). Dying Light 2 directly invalidates your point because the Series S is not holding back the performance on the Series X or PS5.
This whole "Series S is holding back the Series X" isn't the word, most developers are just being lazy of working the actual hardware is the problem. Some people have issues with cross-gen ports but seeing Forbidden West on PS4 to PS5 is debatable but the only difference is their framerates.
This current-gen we're on now isn't all that it seems.
I used to believe the Series S wasn't going to hold back the Series X games. But lately I feel like it might be.
How?

if sony was still making games on the ps3 he thinks it would not hold back the ps5.
yet it shows every time a cross gen game comes out.
look at ratchet and clank vs hzd2.
hzd2 you can see the low quality ps4 assets in alot of spots in the ps5 version.
were ratchet and clank has such detailed assets running at 40fps 120hrz on fidelity mode.
heck in ps5 version of hzd2 the ps5 version had its own water/weather/particle affects.
which means it took them longer to release because they had to make 2 versions of water or weather.
it holds back the developers visions in there games.
@gifford38: every xbox game is also made for the pc so the games must scale anyway. Even if series S wasnt there the devs would still make games scale to 1080p. Most pc gamers game at 1080p on the pc too.
It doesn't really make much difference. Look at games like forza horizon 5. It's better looking than every ps5 game to date and scales well too.

And you continue to parade your ignorance despite being schooled so many times.🙄
@RaZoR500: that sucks if that’s the case those people will most likely get them 1st, that’s definitely gonna help the Xbox sell more to people who didn’t preorder.
Probably indicative of who’s making more rather than which console is more popular. Series S is everywhere. No X or PS5 though.
Not even a little surprised the S is available. Kind of a womp womp of a console.

Series X is now available. So, Xbox may run away with top sales for March.
may != is going
