You save $10-$20 on every game you buy and no doubt hardcore gamers who buy alot of games will have their money recovered sometime down the road.

The only kind of PC gaming worth while is high end PC gaming.(Not Crysis likehigh end though. But Half-Life 2 on near highest settings at least.)So it's most more expensive. But hey, at least you save a little money on the games themselves. :P The only time I ever saw a new PC game for $40 is when it was a collection or an expansion back.
I see denial in here. Those console fanboys who do buy new games and there are plenty of them are just missing out on PC gaming despite paying more for console gaming.Thinker_145
u cant sell pc games to stores such as gamestop or eb games so
again
i buy my 360 game for $60 and you buy your pc game for $50.
later on i sell my 360 game for $15-$30 and i get more money back
/fail

Buy used games for PC even cheaper?
lol what kind of moron buys a used pc game
I do. We have a place called Mckay's that carries used PC games, and you can trade in your PC games as well. I got Civ 4 for 10 bucks last night. If you sell a console game then you cant ever play it again.Whereas you can just throw away your PC game after saving it and you will never need it.Thinker_145Yes, we understand there are advantages to PC gaming. There are also disadvantages, such as cost, compatibility, and learning curve.
Thank you for notifying. You can't disprove a fact, by definition.

so , true. unless your gaming platform doesn't has many games worth buying (in other words its useless) yo can save lots of money by buying cheaper games on pc. not to mention by not paying extra money for map or online

Everything has a learning curve though.

This is some what a oversimplification.. Not every one buys brand new games on the console, used games are a big commodity.. Yet again you have to take in to account PC games drop in price faster alot of times as well.. In the end it just would be far more constructive if this was stated in the argument, because in the end its a pretty flawed point when you take in account of game rentals and used games..
How are those disadvantages care to explain?Thinker_145PCs cost more. Compatibility?
Whether or not hardware components are compatible with eachother?
Whether or not a game can play on your machine? What specific hardware requirements your PC lacks in order to play said game?
Everything has a learning curve though.VandalvideoYes, and the PCs have the highest of the gaming world.
[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]Everything has a learning curve though.JandurinYes, and the PCs have the highest of the gaming world. Albeit, not a completely foreign one either. The ammount of return is proportional.

This is an entirelly too moot of the point with out considering what game it is, how graphically demanding it is, do you know how to use a pc etc etc..
I might also add that hardware components being compatiable with each other is a rediculous argument.. The only time this problem ever happens is the person doesn't actually read...
The last part is kind of a double edged sword in the argument.. In a way you are correct.. But games are just now surpassing hardware recommends of a pc you could have made 2 to 3 years ago by one specs.. So this would just be a minute upgrade at times..
The other thing is we could take in account you could be building a brand new machine now for as cheap as $600 to $700, that can play every game at near max settings witht he exception of Crysis.
[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]Everything has a learning curve though.VandalvideoYes, and the PCs have the highest of the gaming world. Albeit, not a completely foreign one either. The ammount of return is proportional. Not necessarily. It depends on how much the good things the PC gives you are actually used. I would say it can be proportional.
your trying to tell me that the crazy prices for parts is all in my imagination?
the only thing i like about pc gaming is that the games are still 50 bucks. and that sometimes they come in a compilation
I might also add that hardware components being compatiable with each other is a rediculous argument.. The only time this problem ever happens is the person doesn't actually read... sSubZerOoSo, in order to build a competent PC, one has to read, research, and select components carefully.
Thus removing 95% of humanity.
PC gaming is definitely more expensive up front, no doubt about it. A DX10 rig is also more expensive than consoles no doubt about it. However, a rig on par with consoles or slightyl better is moderately more expensive, and that price differential can easily be negated over the span of a generation.your trying to tell me that the crazy prices for parts is all in my imagination?

My pappy sat me down with Lincoln Logs and was like "This is how you build a PC". Thus Vandal learned the PC.[QUOTE="Thinker_145"]I see denial in here. Those console fanboys who do buy new games and there are plenty of them are just missing out on PC gaming despite paying more for console gaming.MikeB_74

.... gamespot rebuys my PC games.... Also, Circuit City seems to be on the warpath... they are selling every PC game at rediculously low levels... Right now Crysis is $39.99 from Circuit City. Same with all other games... Console games however only drop below $60 after they are a year old... World in Conflict is already $29.99

I already told you that PC gaming wont ultimately cost you more.Hardware compatability will only have to be checked when you are buying the PC.And there are people who will instantly tell u on forums regarding this. The other combatabilty which u r saying has more to do with the learning curve of PC gaming than anything.Once you are used to it this wont really be a botheration.

it was just an example how pc gaming can be cheaper overall for many people. otherwise as far as personal preferences go things can vary a lot from places to places. where i live there are no used console games. i was at dubai once and saw a basic wii for around 500$. so what it prooves is that pc gaming is not costlier but will generally depend for person to person

Fixed. ;)The kind of "moron" who is "dumb" enough to realize that pirating is killing the PC gaming industry, thats who. :|
PC gaming > console gaming for the most part
PC gaming doesn't need to cost much at all.....see that 6800XT I have (2 generations old), I have about 40 unplayed very highly rated PC games (1997 -2005) I still have yet to play. Right now I'm enjoying Max Payne (best on PC), Call of Duty (best on PC) and Guild Wars (only on PC), with exclusives Grim Fandango, Total Annihilation, and No One Lives Forever on deck ;).

This is something I could accomplish on my first try?
And, only twice as much as the most expensive console. Obviously cheaper.
