[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="munu9"]The clarity of the Forza Pic is awesome, plus there a bunch of cars on screen and the background is full 3-D and goes for Miles. GT HD looks to plain too. The car almost looks like a toy sliding around on fake backgrounds. The Backgrounds need an improvement in GT IMO![QUOTE="Cubs360"][QUOTE="munu9"]Here's a comparison of the 2 replay videos of GTHD and forza 2, GTHD still looks a bit better IMO, even though the GTHD vid is a bit blurry...munu9
Cars look to plain? A lotus eclise is plain? You obviously never seen a lotus eclise in real life have you? The GT car looks more realistic than the forza one... And this is a screenshot from a video, the forza one aways keeps camera with the car so that it doesn't blur while the GT camera moves around so the pic looks a little blurry because I had to pause it...
I think the reflections on the GTHD car looks better...but then again, it's just ONE CAR. Just one being rendered. And given how subpar the details of the environment look, it's easy to tell their time was spent on getting the car to look as pretty as possible and not a whole lot else. when you look at Forza 2, you have to see more than just the car. you have to consider the processing power going into the crazy physics. the other 7 or 8 cars in the race. the impending damage modeling. the quality textures and details of the environments. it all counts for something and takes away from something. then consider 720p + AA + 60fps.
yes, the *car* in GTHD looks better, but if we added in all the things that make Forza 2 look good, would we presume GTHD's cars would still look the same? I wouldn't.
The only thing bad about the environment is the grass. There are people moving around, flags waving around and if you actually have played the actual demo, the background doesn't look half bad, it gives a good sense of depth. You can instantly access 10 different cars with at least 5 different colors each. Even though you can only use one I think it wouldn't be too much of a problem to get all of those cars at once... plus it's running at 1080p at 60fps... (though the AA needs work). GTHD is still only just a consept demo that came out a year before the actual game (GT5) So I still think, overall, GT5 will look better than forza and will have nearly the same physics (though possibly no damage modelling but WTF, why wasn't there any damage in the forza replay video?)
there was no damage because there were no accidents.Â
and again, I'll wait until I see GT5 do it with 7 or 8 other cars on the screen. but yes, given that GT5 probably isn't even coming in 2007, it certianly *should* look better than Forza 2. Forza 2 should represent the visual bar for any dev targeting a racing sim for late 2007/2008.
lastly, "color options" != 1,000 layers of car customization. that has an effect too.
