Forza 3...

So my copy arrived today. Guess what:

It has an installation AND disc swap.

You first have to insert disc 1 for a Forza3 save, then you have to insert disc 2 for the "full Forza 3 experience" and a 3min (2GB) installation, then you have to insert disc 1 again.

It's for the extra content (cars, tracks) that didn't fit on one disc.

Simply brilliant.

My thoughts?

Obviously every FORZA 3 fan is going to install the 2+gigs, however, the Damage Control will claim those are FORZA extra's and therefore the install isn't needed.

Either way, it shows that DEVS are pushing the boundries as far as possible with these games using last gen's format, DVD9.

DVD9 was underused up until the middle to end of last generation, same as we are seeing with Blu-Ray now. That's my take.

3 min install is nothing i had to wait like a hour for the demo to download

Oh wow haha. Nobody can use the "I'd rather change discs than sit through an install HAHA losers!" argument this time around I guess. This will cause brains to explode trying to spin how it's better than ______ on another system.

Oh well. Im not 400lbs, so i'll be able to do this fine.

If i bother to get the game, im yet to decide ...

I haven't bought it yet, I just read about before hand.

I see now what you are saying. It's a mandatory install type of deal. Interesting. Ah well.

I only have 8 gigs left on my harddrive :( ... make it 6 after I get FM3, also I thought the game was coming out next Tuesday, how did you get it so soon?

Install didn't bother me, it's the massive loading times even after an install. Long loading times for everything really got to me.

I'm glad Turn 10 decided to go with multiple discs and an install over cutting content to fit onto one DVD. Yeah, it makes a few loud mouthed Lemmings who looked for ownage over installs look pretty dumb. But Turn 10 doesn't care. They wanted to deliver the best game they could, and with DVD size limitations, this was the answer.

It's the solution I think we'll be seeing a lot more of as the generation moves forward...

Looks like yea got some work done on some achievements..It looks like all of them are SP player and no MP achievements….Is that right?

thats how it is for FO3 GOTY edition, for 360 you have a seperate disck to download over 2 gigs of expansions then you go back to the first disc and play the

game, with the ps3's it doesnt need an install because everythings all on one disc.

doesnt really effect the game tho, but taking 2 gigs out of an HDD sucks.
