"We have confirmed, on video, straight from the developer's mouth, that this simply is not true."

Doesn't GT5 run at 12 something x 1080?
Anyways, who cares? It's still going to be an excellent game.
And Forza 3 is coming out in October and we still haven't seen true gameplay footage for the final version of GT5.
lol, so forza is 720p and GT5 is 1080i?? Seriously dude??http://xboxevolved.e-mpire.com/article/Forza_Motorsport_3/5541.html

1080p won't help jack up the score of a game, as Prologue has proven.
Forza is the current sim king, so we'll see, but I don't see that changing. Polyphony has been rather incompetent in delivering much of anything.
Guess what? The 360 is outputting a 1080p source, whether it is upscalled or not. So it is "running" at 1080p.Once upon a time, this whole "Native" thing was not even discussed, and I know, as I have sold and installed Home Theater equipment most of my life. But I know the whole "upscaled vs. native" debate took off after upconverting DVD players came out. I'm just saying its not totally a lie for him to say its 1080p.

you realize that is no different then what someone's video processor in their native 1080p TV does before displaying it. So by your logic, someone who owns a native 1080p TV, all video games and programs are running at 1080p...even Wii games :P.
I think you're missing the whole point of my post...[QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="Camer999"]
Forza is 60fps and GT5 is not 1080p so I see no reason, cows can't claim ownage?
Camer999
I may be, explain.
OP claims "ownage" on Forza 3 because it apparently does not run at 60fps, and that it is one of the reasons that GT5 completely destroys it. He is completely oblivious to the fact that GT5 doesn't have such capabilities either, thus putting him in a rather foolish position.1080p won't help jack up the score of a game, as Prologue has proven.

So riddle me this. Does that mean Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Native 1080p) > Metal Gear Solid 4 (Upscaled 720p)? I mean, it'd have to mean that.

Umm, TC is claiming "ownage" at Forza 3 not running at native 1080p. Both games run in 60 fps. Both do not run in 1080p.mm hmm.
And neither is GT5.
thats prologue....but im pretty sure u knew that already....[QUOTE="The_Game21x"]

So we're basing GT5's resolution off of Prologue?
Yeah. To my knowledge, graphics engines are usually one of the first things finished during game development and, if necessary, are polished from there as development continues. I'm not going to say GT5 isn't going to be an improvement over GT5: Prologue visually but I'm not expecting huge differences either. And yes, a bump up to native 1080p would be pretty huge in this case.[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]

Sigma is most certainly native.

Well if your TV converts it instead of the system, then said system is not "running" the game in 1080p.Back in the day if you asked a salesman such as myself, we would say it boils down to which device has the better converter in it (the device or the tv). But back then, everything had to be converted since TV's were not yet digital.
PS,I am in no way saying that a native source isn't better. Just saying again that one can make that claim as long as the signal being sent out of the system is 1080p, regardless of how it started.

Let's think about this for a second, shall we?
Gran Turismo 3, often thought to be the hallmark of the series, only included 150 cars (much less than the previous GT2, which had 650) and scored a 9.4.
Gran Turismo 4 included a whopping 721 and was rated an 8.9.
Forza 1 on the other hand, which "only" had 231 cars, scored a 9.2.
GTR 2 for the PC only included 25 cars and scored a 9.0.
Yeah man, thanks for showing me that having more cars always leads to better scores. You really showed me the light.
Wait a minute...
Even GT mobile destroys Forza 3  thnx for pointing that out.-Reggaeton-
