Too bad Sony doesn't have a 1080P 60fps racer to compare it to.

GT6 is 1080P 60fps , on the PS3 , so compare this Xbone game to a last gen game.

And they had rain, night rain, snow, day night cycle and all the simulation included. Forza's still catching up in this regard.

If Gran Turismo 6 is the final last-gen title from Polyphony Digital, it could be suggested that the developer still hasn't met its objective set forth almost a decade ago: to deliver a 60 frames-per-second racing simulation at 1080p on PlayStation 3. In fact, generally speaking, performance remains smoother in both PS2 and PSP versions of the game. We still have elements in the game remaining from the PS2 generation and the gold standard 60fps update clearly hasn't been met with the consistency we would have liked. While the resolution boost is welcome, the move to MLAA from multi-sampling feels like a retrograde step (especially in 720p mode) that doesn't particularly suit the style of the game.

And Rally and Nascar and 1000+ cars.

I think Forza sould just stick to Horizen , a much better side series.

Well considering what they were doing on the screen, plus the under the hood simulation that, in my opinion, edges Forza, dips should be expected. Not to mention that the PS3 was hell to develop for. I would love to see what PD can pull of with a console that's more powerful and easier to develop for.

I see lots of excuses.....seriously shouldn't compare a last gen game to a current gen game that ACTUALLY runs at 1080P 60fps....just silly.

Also I would love to see what PD can do as well.....we just have to keep waiting and waiting and waiting.

I never played a single Forza game despite I own all Xbox consoles but anyways, I played Forza 6 Demo for the past couple of days, like it at first but got board really fast. I'm sorry but Forza isn't my kind of game so I can't say if Forza needs a break or not.

I know you might like this.

It's animeeee. And if you don't...no worries it's not like it became a series or anything.

I gotta admit, it does looks good and peaks my interest.

Is mighty impressive what they did with the PS3 version, really showing how powerful the PS3 was compare to the xbox 360....

As it stands, performance seems to hinge on the use of four elements: dynamic lighting, the amount of cars on-screen, utilisation of the cockpit view, and weather effects. GT6 includes an updated real-time lighting solution designed to allow for realistic time of day changes. While this feature was already present in Gran Turismo 5 to a limited degree, GT6 sees this extended across a wider variety of circuits.

One piece of DF on GT dynamic lighting and weather.

The cockpit and dynamic weather, also present in GT5, continue to negatively impact the engine's ability to reach its 60fps objective. When all of these elements are combined we encountered frame-rates that can reach the low 40s in 1080p mode. Interestingly, despite these performance issues, Polyphony Digital insists on updating all reflections and mirrors at the same rate as the game itself. Games such as Forza 5 actually decouple these elements and display them at a variable frame-rate - no doubt in order to help maintain a solid frame-rate elsewhere.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-vs-gran-turismo-6

GT6 >>>>>>>> Forza 5 and 6...lol

Dynamic lighting for day to night transition,Dynamic weather to,2 things Forza 6 lack as neither effect is dynamic.

The game is 1440x1080p and runs mostly at 60FPS with drops that go inbetween 40's and 60 while having 16 cars.

Considering this game is done on a last gen platform,i don't even know how they freaking achieve dynamic lighting for day and night and dynamic weather to at 1440x1080p and still be able to hit between 40 and 60 FPS at worse case scenario,Polyphony really kicked Turn 10 ass when it comes to making most out of your hardware,so badly that still Forza 6 which is the 3rd forza game on xbox one features no dynamic weather or night races.

Not likely.

I'm still building points from FH1 , FH2 and F4 on the 360 , so i think i'll play F6 in December.

And if i get F5 really cheap then maybe March.

But this is one of the best driving simulations out there: it's the game launch title Forza 5 really should have been.

this is hands-down the best Forza ever

Forza Motorsport 6 is what I always wanted a next-gen driving game to be.

Forza Motorsport 6 is, without a doubt, the best simulation racing game ever made

When it comes right down to it, Forza Motorsport 6 is a big improvement over Forza 5 and a must-have for driving simulation fans.

These are 5 quotes, from different reviewers, that are all saying the exact opposite of you. How can you barely improve, and then get these reviews?

That says **** all about whatever specific improvements FM6 has (or more appropriately, hasn't), SlowRobert.

On a side note, best simulation game ever made by still lower score than Forza on the 360 or GT at its peak. Top lel.

That's not how scoring works... So if the first shooter ever created got a 9, and we vastly improved the shooter genre, they must all have a score of 10, although some are still better than others? Ridiculous. Think before you speak.

GT6 came 1 month after Forza 5 in 2013 so is GT6 vs F5,which mean a 81% vs 79 % win for GT6,which did dynamic weather and night transitions something F5 totally lack, hell the 6th chapter lack it to Rain and night races aren't dynamic in F6 and lighting is baked is a last gen game on 1080p 60FPS ,when another GT game comes out yeah we compare it to Forza 6,hell if anything DC came on 2014 and is the latest racing exclusive from sony so compare it to F6..lol

I prefer they take their time instead of doing a butcher job like MS milking Forza which has 3 games already in 2 years.

GT6 came head to head with F5 not F6 is a 2013 game, and was ahead of F5 and score better to,a last gen game doing dynamic weather and lighting in night transitions while been 1440x1080p and still aiming for 60,hell Forza even had to sacrifice reflections on mirrors to keep the frame up,while not even that GT6 did...lol

F5 was owned by a last gen console,i can even begin to imagine how great GT7 will look and feel compare to last gen Forza..lol

I did't see you give@nyadc the same scrutiny when he tried making excuses for the weather looking sub par compared to PC and DC. But whatever...

Considering this game is done on a last gen platform,i don't even know how they freaking achieve dynamic lighting for day and night and dynamic weather to at 1440x1080p and still be able to hit between 40 and 60 FPS at worse case scenario,Polyphony really kicked Turn 10 ass when it comes to making most out of your hardware,so badly that still Forza 6 which is the 3rd forza game on xbox one features no dynamic weather or night races.

did you bother to read what you posted?

The cockpit and dynamic weather, also present in GT5, continue to negatively impact the engine's ability to reach its 60fps objective. When all of these elements are combined we encountered frame-rates that can reach the low 40s in 1080p mode. -

Must have missed that bit eh?

also, its not Full HD 1920x1080p is it?

They managed to achieve it by having PS2 assets in the game. something else your article mentions but that you neglected to post here.

One thing i did notice about forza 6 last night is that the rear view mirror and wing mirrors offer a much better view than most other racers i've played.

Did you even read what you quote.?

The cockpit and dynamic weather, also present in GT5, continue to negatively impact the engine's ability to reach its 60fps objective. When all of these elements are combined we encountered frame-rates that can reach the low 40s in 1080p mode.

What you claim i miss.

Considering this game is done on a last gen platform,i don't even know how they freaking achieve dynamic lighting for day and night and dynamic weather to at 1440x1080p and still be able to hit between 40 and 60 FPS at worse case scenario,

What i say in the same post you quoted,so obviously i didn't miss shit, you didn't read as i admit the game hit between 40 and 60 on its worse case scenario and that is what it does when several elements are combined like weather and others, the game does hit 60FPS more regularly when rain isn't present low 40's to 60 is the engine at its worse.

And still they didn't sacrifice reflections in mirrors like F5 did cutting it to 30FPS.

1440x1080p which i also stated which is quite high considering Forza 4 was 720 and how no night or weather and had baked lighting.

NO all cars are PS2 models fool, and they have higher polygon count than on PS2 as well.

One thing you will not notice is dynamic lights in night transition,or dynamic weather because it doesn't have them...

MS vision of Next gen is a joke, and is the reason why Driveclub look so increadible apart from all Forza games this gen.

@Zero_epyon: Why are you people so fricken obsessed with DF? Who cares? Stop filling the boards with this crap.

Anyone else making an analysis of games on consoles? Please let me know and I'll cite them too.

Who gives a f**k? Play the game! What does it matter what DF says?

The PS4 is more powerful than the XB1. Everyone knows that. What the hell is the point of analyzing the frame rates and resolution at this point? Get over it and move on.

Don't like it, don't read the thread. Other people like myself enjoy analyzing game performance.

You should spend more time gaming that reading about technical analysis. Forza looks awesome; and if you like racing games, is fun to play.

Isn't that the point of gaming? Having fun playing games?

I did't see you give@nyadc the same scrutiny when he tried making excuses for the weather looking sub par compared to PC and DC. But whatever...

Not my place...I am just responding to the people responding to me.

Too bad Sony doesn't have a 1080P 60fps racer to compare it to.

To bad MS doesn't have a next gen racer...lol

Here a 1080p 60FPS game which Forza 6 can compete with.

You trollin' now lol

What do you mean by "NOW"? That's all El Tormo does is troll. LOL!!

Forza doesn't need to compete against any racer because it's already on top. Other racers need to compete against Forza 6.

How many times do I have to say it.

You cannot compare a game running at 60fps, to a game running at 30fps.

@tormentos stop being an idiot

You really think Drive club wold look the same and have the same dynamics running at 60fps.

Don't be a chimp

Why are you here? Also, I don't have to do anything you say. I have my interests. And not once did I criticize the fun factor of the game. This is a technical review not a game review. So chill out and play games like you suggest.

Hhhmm.. not by Metacritic scores it isn't.

Even on Gamespot they game GT5 an 8 score and GT6 a 7 score. So........ I think you're wrong there.

Stormy doesn't because it kill its parity performance argument and derange dreams of DX12 closing the gap...lol

I'm going by the logic of a fan , not a moron that gets paid to review games.

GT5 is the most flawed GT with the stupid level system that restrics player choice , something the GT2 , 3 and 4 had.

GT6 got a lower score because they didn't impress the reviewer with brand new spanking graghics , but fans love it , cause it's not boged down by "Forza 2 Syndrome".

The graphics are good and more importantly, the game plays and feels great at 60fps. There is plenty of content to keep racing fans occupied. You can troll all you want, but it is still the most complete and polished sim racer out there. Anybody who like games like Project Cars and Gran Turismo should be playing this game. Put the fanboy shit aside and enjoy the game.
