In terms of the actual racing experience both PD/T10 will have to go a long way to beat pCARS, every race ive had on pCARS has been pure adrenaline and sweat from green light to chequered flag with no time to relax or get complacent.
GT and forza may have more content overall but for sheer racing thrills neither of them are even in the same book as pCARS let alone the same page.
have you even played the game? it's full of glitches on my x1 ( if its pc i don't know but ps4 has the same problems), practically the ai wants to crash into me every corner (more prevalent in open wheel because both our wheels lock up and we have no control), the updates havent changed anything.(probably for steering wheel users who had problems). you cant get into a public online lobby for 15 minutes (it says unable to find lobby) and when i try to brake the same time as the ai, they turn perfectly without any understeer while i'm far too fast to go around the corner, and by the time you pick through the lower field, the top 3 would be 20 to 40 seconds ahead of you, making it impossible for you to catch up and when the ai hits you and go into the mud, you crash and you get a penalty for crossing the white line i know i can turn down the penalties/sim damage, but then it's the same as gt/forza making it a simcade like quality it's basically 50$ waste of money for me, and by the time they make the game playable, forza 6 will have launched and with customizability/upgrades/drift tuning, i'll be too busy with the game to care about project cars. i know the physics are good but it's basically unplayable except for time trials. oh, and if you want a decent qualifying/ penalty game, get F1 2015. its just around the corner.
Of course ive played it didnt you read my post, the clues are there you know....
I have the game on PS4 and havent experienced any of the faults or glitches you described im afraid, only one ive had was the screen went black for a few seconds then nothing and then the console reset back the dashboard and thats only happened once so i cant be 100% sure it was pCARS or an update from sony which caused that.
I play it with a wheel and its a fantastic experience, everything i said earlier and more, ive never had the pure racing experience pCARS gives with ANY GT or forza game, the feeling of being right on the ragged edge filled with adrenaline fighting the wheel for that extra tenth of a second is second to none and something the big 2 are not even close to providing.
Go and play forza if thats your thing, its all good in the hood. I maintain though that PD/T10 have got some serious work to beat pCARS for the actual racing experience.
