In terms of the actual racing experience both PD/T10 will have to go a long way to beat pCARS, every race ive had on pCARS has been pure adrenaline and sweat from green light to chequered flag with no time to relax or get complacent.

GT and forza may have more content overall but for sheer racing thrills neither of them are even in the same book as pCARS let alone the same page.

After 3 the series has been going down hill. This whole every two year iteration w/ the Horizon spin off in between is overkill ... I barely touched 4, and 5. Have yet to play Horizon 2 ... and now I have another FM on the way, racing sims don't need to be pumped out so quickly!

Skipped FM5 knowing FM6 will be the real deal and FH2 is awesome but I still have so much to do and little time to do it.

@tushar172787: DriveClub did have weather and night racing. It took six Forzas to get this included. I'm not saying DC is better but they left an impression that Turn 10 responded to.

@tushar172787: true but DriveClub was announced first with weather. Supposed to be a launch title. Forza Horizon 2 was announced much later and got out the door first due to superior developer skill.

@FoxbatAlpha: you have a point, but gt had weather before this. weather was in developement ever since next gen started for both driveclub and forza horizon 2. it had to come out regardless of either game having/not having weather announced.

@PernicioEnigma: No, that would make no sense. Care to try again?

Because Driveclub is far more of an arcade racer (not to say Forza is a hardcore sim) and it gives you much less freedom in terms of car setup and customization. Care to explain why your comparison makes more sense than mine?

I gotta say tho...DC is awsome (now)

have you even played the game? it's full of glitches on my x1 ( if its pc i don't know but ps4 has the same problems), practically the ai wants to crash into me every corner (more prevalent in open wheel because both our wheels lock up and we have no control), the updates havent changed anything.(probably for steering wheel users who had problems). you cant get into a public online lobby for 15 minutes (it says unable to find lobby) and when i try to brake the same time as the ai, they turn perfectly without any understeer while i'm far too fast to go around the corner, and by the time you pick through the lower field, the top 3 would be 20 to 40 seconds ahead of you, making it impossible for you to catch up and when the ai hits you and go into the mud, you crash and you get a penalty for crossing the white line i know i can turn down the penalties/sim damage, but then it's the same as gt/forza making it a simcade like quality it's basically 50$ waste of money for me, and by the time they make the game playable, forza 6 will have launched and with customizability/upgrades/drift tuning, i'll be too busy with the game to care about project cars. i know the physics are good but it's basically unplayable except for time trials. oh, and if you want a decent qualifying/ penalty game, get F1 2015. its just around the corner.

You don't need to buy every single installment and I doubt most do. For instance, I bought FM1 on Xbox back in 2005, then FM2 on 360 skipped FM3, got FM4 skipped FM5 and getting FM6 plus I skipped the first FH and got FH2. I don't mind saying, I think I've done it just right. :P

Of course ive played it didnt you read my post, the clues are there you know....

I have the game on PS4 and havent experienced any of the faults or glitches you described im afraid, only one ive had was the screen went black for a few seconds then nothing and then the console reset back the dashboard and thats only happened once so i cant be 100% sure it was pCARS or an update from sony which caused that.

I play it with a wheel and its a fantastic experience, everything i said earlier and more, ive never had the pure racing experience pCARS gives with ANY GT or forza game, the feeling of being right on the ragged edge filled with adrenaline fighting the wheel for that extra tenth of a second is second to none and something the big 2 are not even close to providing.

Go and play forza if thats your thing, its all good in the hood. I maintain though that PD/T10 have got some serious work to beat pCARS for the actual racing experience.

You are correct..............to an extent. It seems they flip flop every other year with Forza the sim and Horizon the open world racer. It creates a nice balance that you always have some sort of racer coming from the premier creator. Turn 10.

GT has 15 games over 18 years which if you do the mats is actually more.

No, It really doesn't. But let's see the list, and see if you're confusing games with demos.

If i was counting the demos as well it would be 23 games dude, the prologues and concepts are classed as full games.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Turismo_%28series%29

I'd be willing to give you the Prologues, but the concepts are pretty weak, since they were slight variants on a limited release. Should we also count complete editions of Forza as different games? At most, the Concepts are one game. That makes 9, maybe 10 GT releases so far. But there's no way you should count GT HD, given as a free demo, or GT online. Or do you want to count the Fast and Furious, Storm Island and all the other Forza packs as individual games, plus Horizon 2 as 2 games since people keep saying they're so different it's exclusive?

Indeed. As long as they bring new stuff it is not really a problem. FH2 did bring new stuff, and was better than FH. So no big deal it released after 2 years. FM4 released in 2011, FM5 again two years later, and did bring new stuff. The problem with FM5 was the microtransactions (in the beginning), and the lack of cars/tracks. But gameplay wise it upped the ante again from FM4, and now that FM6 is coming out, I'm 100% sure that it will deliver on all fronts. Gameplay, graphics, content. So what's the problem that it's another Forza game, when it delivers?

I still couldn't criticize Turn 10 for the lack of content. They put out a quality launch title that was there when other games were on a two year waiting list. I supported their choice to trim some of the content to get it out the door. The microtransactions were steep but always an option.

On the flip side, it is amazing how Driveclub followers have totally forgave Evolution for the "free" version but they still won't buy a Xbox One because of mah DRM announcement 2 years ago...........

True, but I get it that you could criticize Turn 10 because of the content. They came from Forza Motorsport 4, the best racing game of last-gen. They put the bar amazingly high, Forza Motorsport was the king of racing games. So it was a dissapointment that it released with less stuff than Forza Motorsport 4. Forza Motorsport 5 is still the best one of this gen, but other's had the chance to come close. Turn 10 gave hope to other developers that they might create a better racing game. Luckily all will be restored soon, the king will spit in their faces once again.

@FoxbatAlpha: Why are you guys mentioning DC? Had nothing to do with this. My comment was solely based on a new forza every year. Not whether it's good or bad.

That being said, CoD gets good reviews every year but people still give it more shit than any franchise.

And it was obviously a shit move to not release the free DC, not sure who is defending that

I'm not into racing games but this is the return of the king baby. Forza 5 was fucked up but I already know Forza 6 will be its grand return.

Meanwhile Sony fans are waiting until like 2018 for GT7 which will probably end up being a mess like Driveclub anyways.

Edit: Hey @FoxbatAlpha, I'm a big fan of Tim Dog on twitter and youtubers like Crapgamer.

Yup! Ones a sim game and ones an open world arcade game. I'm fine with that. I would love to see another PGR as well. Definitely one of the best racing game last gen. I believe PGR had weather too. GT games come out every 3 years. Need For Speed comes out every year as well.

GT6>FORZA 5, but Forza series >> Gran Tourism series with the exception of that one game. Forza 5 let me down, hopefully 6 is the return of all the content that has been lost over the years. Mainly tracks. I also hope they drop the micro transactions. I hate seeing the cars I could use for $50 more dollars.

Agree with everything said here except as a series its not that clear cut, maybe something like this Forza > GT or argubaly vise versa GT > Forza. GT has been not that great lately but as a series 1, 2, 3. Especially Grand Turismo 3 A spec, not just a racing game but as a video game is one of the best ever, legendary. I might get killed for saying that here, but that game was a special package. Will need to see just a few more iterations to give one a clear victory as a series imo. Forza after 3 is also starting to be just ok really not that special. infact these console racing sims are not that special these days.

My official Hype is a 10, Turn 10 have learned from their mistakes of Forza 5, they should be able to knock this out of the park, From what we already know is it will be an epic racing game, But sadly, Forza horizon 2 might have killed some of the hype for a "Track Only" racing game, being stripped of freedom, As for me...i don't give a shit because i'll play the hell out of it, but for the Others, i'm not sure. People have been taken back at just how good FH2 is, Already most were saying they should kill off the motorsports series and keep it solely horizon.

Which would be dumb as hell, and yet i can see why they think that. Regardless of that, i'm personally giving this a hype of a solid 10.

@blackace: I have no problem with it. No reason to. Just the hypocrisy irritates me

It's not even the same thing as a new Fifa or CoD. There's not a whole lot that's different between them other than the setting.

The only thing Motorsport and Horizon have in common is literally just the Forza name for marketing purposes. They don't even have the same group of fans. Some prefer Horizon, I hate it, I only play Motorsport. Every Horizon gamer I speak to says they don't play Motorsport.

The only time Motorsport failed to differ a lot was between FM 3 and FM 4. You're argument is literally a technicality. If the word Forza wasn't in either title, the argument would fall flat and people would look at them as just two different racers coming out alternately.

@TorqueHappens08: i enjoyed forza 4 so much, i enjoyed fh2 for a solid 8 months or so, but it got slightly repetitive with the same map (storm was great too). i'm literally going mad for forza 6.

So that means it will actually be a full Forza game this time? Congrats. It still doesn't have as many cars and tracks as Forza 4. This is what happens when you force a racing sim out every two years. The cars and tracks don't change in real life much if at all, so you're content from release to release isn't gonna change much. This is the one exception since Forza 5 shipped with far less content than Forza 4 had. It was basically like calling GT5 Prologue a full Gran Turismo release.

Some people always have something to bitch about. It has 450 cars, and 26 tracks. FM4 had +500 cars, and 26 tracks... Those +50 cars really make the difference...

According to IGN it seems Porsche will be in FM6 as well....sounds like FM6 will match FM4 in terms of content, though we still have to see how many tracks it will have. I've never been disappointed with a Forza title so far(overall), but there are 2 things I hope to see in FM6, better in game music, and a better menu system and heavy Kinect integration with voice commands(similar to FM4 but improved). Otherwise, cannot wait to get my hands on the game

It does when this thing is supposed to be next gen. What if Call of Duty Black Ops 3 shows up with half the game modes of Black Ops 2, or maybe they decide to leave out Kill Confirmed mode? You don't think anyone would complain? Honestly Forza 5 was a bit of a disgrace in that regard.

Also does this mean its 450 of the 500 cars Forza 4 had, or did they add new ones which drops even more off the list from Forza 4? If the tracks are the same 26 tracks, then people are going to pay $60 for what amounts to a Forza 4 remaster minus 50+ cars.

New cars of course... Do you think they didn't add cars that released after 2011? :s

And wow, so only the cars and the tracks matter? Not the gameplay, just those numbers? So FM6 might have 1000 times better gameplay than FM4, doesn't matter just a rehash because it has the same cars and tracks...

Well, what would you be expecting as a gameplay upgrade that would be worth paying $60 for the same game you played 4 years ago? Cars and tracks are usually what sells these games as much as the physics. This is the sixth game in a series the media types like to claim is better than Gran Turismo, so I wouldn't expect ground breaking changes.

If your a huge fan of the series, fine. People buy Madden every year too. But Forza has been declining in sales since Forza 3, and I think it's because they release too often. You really need 3-5 years between sim racers to get enough new content to make it feel fresh and new. That's why Gran Turismo is only on the 6th edition even though the first Gran Turismo released 8 years before the first Forza game. GT6 is the only one that hasn't sold 10+ million copies, and that's because it released on PS3 after PS4 launched.
